And this is how a DIY is written. Some other forums should take notes! Good work!

Can't wait to wrap this up,

I've got the LED's install, but anyone have some tips on getting the wire through the door loom?

I can't get the white clip in the door to come off and really don't want to break it.

Just drill a hole like GP did instead of messing with the door harness

According to this post there's an existing harness hole, I'm guessing there's a hole in the middle of the harness i should be able to pass the wire through, I was just trying what looked like holes on the ends.

Yes, you can splice the wire into the footwell wire, that's exactly what I did
It aces a lot of time.

First thing, I it through the passenger door by removing the rubber loom first, then using a screwdriver to get the white clip out, easier to push up on the bottom tab, the wires for the LED will "fit" between the white clip and the edge of it's hole, but there's a chance it has cut into the shielding of your wire.

Lastly,

I feel like this needs to be edited in the first post.

DON'T USE FUSE #32!!!

That is unless you only want your puddle lights to work when the key is turned on, not really a big deal, I used furse #14 instead, but ya...

I wasn't thinking when I wrote fuse #32.

You're right, Fuse 32 is only powered when your car is on.

I believe I used the fuse for the power seat, since that's always powered.
There's like 4, one for passenger/driver, and one for recline/slide.

If these are wired to the footwell lighting / map light that fade out, does this mean they'll come on when the interior dome light is turned on? This is a DIY I'd love to do sometime soon but wouldn't want the puddle lights coming on if I had to turn the interior map lights on for some reason.

Nope, the dome supervision wire doesnt turn on when you turn on the dome.

That's the cool thing.

Now if you tapped to the dome wire, that's a different story.

So, question, I'm trying to do this mod and I'm missing something. The lights are staying on and not going off with the dome lights. I have the red positive wire connected to the interior light fuse, and the negative connected to the red/green wire on the 5 wire connector above the MICU. Either the red/green wire is not the ground for the dome lights, or I'm missing something. In the 5 wire connector above the MICU, there are 5 wires: yellow wire with blue stripe, green, orange, black, and red wire with green stripe. What am I missing? Even when I connected the positive red wire from the LED to the power seat slide fuse, it still is lit all the time.

I would like to know which negative wire to hook up the negative (black) wire to from the LED, because the red/green wire (it's red with a green stripe, not green with a red stripe like in the original post) is making the LED lit all the time. Also since I hooked up the positive wire to the interior light fuse (fuse 6 I believe), that's also why it's staying lit all the time. Is there a positive wire that I can hook up the positive LED wire to so that the LED light goes off with the courtesy dome lights?

It does not matter which of the 5 wires from that white 5-wire connector above the turn signal relay I connect the negative LED wire to, the LED stays lit all the time.

I figured it out. Reading OWNS me. It's the GREEN 5-wire connector BEHIND the turn signal relay, NOT the white 5-wire connector above it.

I've got these wired as puddle lights and yes, wiring them to work correctly was a pain in the ass

@jdmvette Did you hook up the turn signal or parking lights, or did you just hook up the courtesy lights that are bright white?

@gatrhumpy

If you want the lights to turn on with the fob as you hit unlock (like I did) you have to connect both the positive and negative leads from the light strip to negative signals on the TL.

I believe the positive strip lead went to a green/black negative wire that is at the front headliner switch for the dome lights and the negative can go to any regular grounding point.

I got all the wiring info from this forum. If you can't find the info let me know and I'll look up the threads I used.
