*Semi-Urgent* REMOVING OEM Aspec kit from '04 TL?

Hey guys

If I want to remove my OEM aspec kit are there any marks/damage done to OEM components during install? or can it be removed and reveal a clean stock body?

I believe that you have to drill holes in the bumper to install the kit Sorry, but you might be stuck with it. You might be able to find someone to trade stock bumpers with though...

You have to drill into the front and rear bumpers about six to eight times each.

im debating trading the car in for a 4g, but dealer trade in quotes are just for a regular TL, aero kit means nothing but I could sell after the fact to recover some costs.

I found some PDF instructions, it appears its just the back bumper thats drilled, front and sides are typical installs with under mount hardware?

you drill into the front underneath toward the front. Then covered with black inserts. You could take it off and leave the inserts or remove it all together.

back bumper only two holes that would be visible, plus maybe paint fade differences everywhere.

do you have the side skirts to replace the aspec?

Side skirts are a direct swap, no mounting over.
The front bumper you won't see any holes, as the three holes are under the bumper and not visible (unless people look under your car), but the rear you'll see four holes.

i just installed my aspec kit 2 weeks ago. you have to drill into the front bumper where the little zip tie type things pull it in tight to the bumper. sorry man. i have a type-s but i am pretty sure the instructions are the same for the front just a different spot you have to cut in the rear. someone correct me if im wrong

Exactly. The only place that will have visible holes is the rear bumper.

OP has 04-06 lip kit...no zip tie holes. only holes visible on 04-06 kit will be in the rear bumper which someone has already mentioned.

If you're just trading it in put toothpaste or gum in the holes and get the closest nail polish lol. They're not gonna scrutinize that kinda thing on a trade.

I say its not worth the hassle. Leave it on and trade it in. Besides, I have a feeling that if the kit was on long enough its probably not gonna be a pretty site once you get it off. I bet there would be marks similar to how the front bumper looks after you remove a front license plate bracket after so many years. Used body kits arent worth that much, so just save yourself all the time and hassle and leave it on.
