**New Member Post** Help :)

Hey Guys, Specifically the TL owners,

I currently own a 2004 White TL && I plan on doing sooooo many things to it during the Summer '13. I'm just curious, what kind of work can I do to it. My goal is to have it VIP'ed lol

Start with some good quality coilovers, Tein, Function and Form and etc. A-Spec Lip kit, and the list goes on. Start looking in the photography gallery of this section...lots of ideas!

So Far this is my Projected Plan:
Instal Coilovers
Mid-Muffler Delete
Air Intake
HID Fogs+Halo rings
Exotic Paint Job
Tune Engine (Probably Supercharge or Turbo??)

The only Problem is, Im not sure wats the best order to do these things?

I would recommend starting off with full bolt-on's before attempting to charge your motor.
Make it breathe.

Cat back exhaust system. Cold air intake, pre cat deletes, j-pipe. Thermoblock spacers, throttle body spacer, 09 TL SHAWD throttlebody.

I would stay away from turbos on this style car, someone can interject if they want but to me it is a more expensive way to add performance, a supercharger will give you what you need.
My plan is to do aid muffler delete and cat delete with a magnaflow resonator, 2.5 inch piping to magnaflow mufflers with 3.5 inch tip. It sounds amazing and frees up about 5-15 extra hp.

Definately agree on the breathing part, the stock exhaust and airbox restrict such hp and reduces throttle response drastically.

If you do decide to charge or boost the car, keep inind you will need to install a tranny cooler and use redline tranny fluid to help prolong the life of the drivetrain as well as upgrade the cv axels and so on. Correct me if im wrong...

Welcome!

I don't want to sound rude but it doesn't seem like you have the slightest clue of what you're doing. While VIP cars sometimes have engine work done, that work is done usually after other components. Every owner has different plans and such so that's not always true, but more common than not. You should get suspension first, then wheels, then you can do little things like headlights with halos and such. Also, look into the A-Spec lip kit.

Good luck!

Here's a VIP TL-S. See how it's slammed?

Some add curtains, extra interior details.

Personally Id bring the maintenance up to par before spending $$ on mods. How many miles on the car? timeing belt done? trans good to go? changed fluid, replaced pressure sensors? Engine mounts good? etc. Check out the 3g garage to read further into typical maintenance items for the TL. Just something to consider esp with an 04 if you just bought it.

So essentially VIP means hella clean, slammed, super nice show car? Makes sense, mine is a daily. But i still want it to be super clean. That cant happen until i move off the coast and get off the Oregon highways.

Rayray, in the lower right hand corner of each post, the middle icon is a Multi-Quote button.

It allows you to answer more than one person in a single reply.

Be sure to give it a try.

Steven Bell, i love the LED strip headlights, where can i get those, it gives it the look of the audi's headlights now. Does it take away from the driving lights? Or is it on a seperate switch? Off topic but sweet TYPE S you have!

I didnt even notice there were new replies, Sorry I took long.... But Most importantly, Thanks alot.

First off, My TL is 2004 with 130,000 Miles. The car is running Beautifully. I did complete engine work as soon as I got it, such as Oil change, tran fluid, steering fluid, new battery, buh I might need to check on the Timing Belt (Thanks nttstt444)... Lets not forget new OEM Brakes && Rotors.

&& Honestly, I'm not used to the terminology on Forum but I do consider myself fairly good with cars, especially my TL <3 lol....

All in All, Its gonna take some time until I really reach my goal for this car But for now I'm thinking the TL def needs to breathe. Do you guys know some cheap ways to make that happen?? Even when I drive it, I can feel the car really has power, its just restricted or something. More needs more air flow?

I would start by getting a CAI or deleting the third muffler. But its my first TL as well so maybe someone else could help us both out on this one because i would like to know as well.

I had a 03 Nissan Max before this, R.I.P to her. But wat I did to increase air flow was get the mid muffler delete and also changed the air intake. it was a simple swap job and it gave it a decent deep rawring sound.... I'm just curious if i can do the same thing to this car??
