ha.. why dont you buy 2007 TL for $35000 and use $125,000 toward your gas money? $400/month for gas, 26yrs+. $200/month for gas, then 50+ years..... You know you'll still have to pay for electricity.

Think he'll consider $33K OTD? 'Cause I think I can get a Gas Powered one *just like it*, only more reliable, just across town for ~$33k OTD.

Man he turned down my offer of $50,000 cash. lol I emailed him, heres what he said.

"Dear Paul,

Thank you for contacting us. We are actually offering these cars made to order. The car pictured is our demonstration car. Dupont Registry is aware of that but we are only allowed to explain this to each person who responds, not in the ad. We cannot sell the demonstration car, and since we are making them to order we cannot get close to your offered price. However, if you know any early technology adopters who are willing to pay a premium to support the development of green technology, please spread the word. You can see more about what we are trying to accomplish at http://luxuryelectric.com. In the near future, we will be bringing the car to California and other places to demonstrate it. We will know the dates in a few weeks. If you have further questions, please email me again.

Elliott"

So yeah this guy is serious about the asking price.

This is a joke, where are the specs of the electric engine? where is the shot of the engine bay? pure bs, 125K for an electric motor? wha? I'll buy myself LS 600h, and be happy, with cash left over.

But the question is what if there is no demand.

If they're built-to-order, as the email someone received indicates, there's exactly enough demand.

hmm no way, for 160K you can do so much to the regular one at 32K, it would blow that crap away. And when you rev it, its gonna make a difference. You won't be so inferior on the streets. Electric cars do not have teh power of gas vehicles and it will take awhile for the power to match gas engines if they every do. Who will want to switch for a price tag like that, why go for it when you can buy a ferrari or lambo in its place.

Where's the engine bay? how come this guy wasn't known in forums for the conversion? what the fuck is this bogus shit?!?!?!?!

You'd think the manufacturers would've heard about this by now....

Since the engine's different, what happens to the ecu? what happens to the immobilizer unit? what the @#$! happens to vtec? won't the electricity bill run high charging this POS at your garage? 200 miles isn't enough, that's how much I drive in a day.. literally.

I see there'd be some weight reduction from removing the old engine, let alone the entire fuel system to begin with. And the car is rather heavy.. very heavy so it won't go far or fast at all..

what the hell.. .. oh yeah, it's only for "rich" people... what about us? If the price was lower, he'd get much much more responses than before.

Actually, If I were to go with an electric car it would be the Tesla Roadster. 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Looks nice too.

I wouldn't buy it on the sole fact that its not considered one of the "clean pass" aka GREEN cars, so I can't use it in the HOV lane here on the LIE (Long Island Expressway)....

clean pass aka green cars can use the HOV lane even with ONE driver at all times!

I've just noticed it, it's an automatic tranny with a 6 speed? lol!

What happened to the Type-S dual leather seating?

A car runs on 24 laptop batteries, fun!!!! with only 2.5 hours recharge time. So if you go the store buy some cereal, come home, realize you have no milk, you'll spend 2.5 hours recharging the car before you can resume your shopping. This is more like a golf cart.

He graduated with BS degree from Harvard, you would expect a specific info on the engine powering the car, as this would be the ultimate show off for him of his creation.

From what I'm getting the car does not exist, and he is thinking of making it, so he needs some dumbass to lay out 160K for a 32K car...someone should email him for specs.
