After reading gatrhumpy's now legendary thread on the Coverlay dashboard cover, I stumbled upon a much cheaper and unique solution that I'm sure won't appeal to everyone.
I wanted something temporary to cover up the cracks around my airbag until I actually buy a Coverlay. I stumbled upon dashboard no slip mats on Amazon, $12 later I have this on my dash now:
You can still see the rear two cracks but the unsightly major cracks on the airbags are now covered up. Again, this solution is not for everyone, but for $11, I personally was happy with the result.
Here's the link for the dash pads, you actually get four of them in two sizes for only $10.99:
Last and the only time I used such a pad was about 10 years ago. After removing it from dash after about 2 months of using, I got the greasy sticky stain that I couldn't remove. Maybe from that time Chinese has changed the formula of pad but I doubt.

Excellent point, I didn't think about that. Honestly I really don't care if it stains it, I'll eventually get a Coverlay and install it exactly like gatrhumpy did. That being said, I'll just check the mat every few days and wipe down the dash .
I'm a function over form kind of person. These cracks are purely cosmetic and don't affect the function of my car in anyway. The cracks are just an eyesore, and this temporary fix honestly looks better than I initially thought.
If this contained the cracks, then that would be great. Unfortunately, like you said, this is just a temporary fix and wont' last long as the cracks will continue to spread. Thanks for sharing your journey though! I'm glad you're happy with it.
I could really use something like that right about now haha, the dash cover I’m using is always falling out of place and doesn’t ever fit cleanly without wrinkles.
and Danky, you almost can't see the cracks over the love note and all the other shit on your dash anyway! Good work!
lol ass! Haha I like my photos raw, jus like I (censor)....
Nah but I rather people see the real, rather then A picture that id take only after using the previous 2-3 minutes removing any/all trash/stuff that makes me, well me lol..
Aloha!
dude, if you keep that much shit on your dash I am not even kidding about not sweating the damn cracks...
good place to store your weed!
haha you guys seriously have to be bored today, I’m guessing day off? First off, the Nugs go into the Not so secret bottom of armrest secret compartment(duh)!
-Secondly that note was to let the employees or building manager know that it’s my car and id appreciate it if they didn’t call A tow truck, which they’d end up appreciating if they wanted to continue to get their packages delivered lol.
-2 1/2 or Third- Other paper was my Route Sheet that was in my hand at the time that I threw up there to grab the crappy dash cover to move it over for the picture..
let me rack my brain, been a long time...
I don't know where gaytr got his plastic looking one.
I think I got mine from dash-topper
I wish photobucket hadn't gotten raped. I had pics...
I put the tweeters through the mat and made it look
semi custom.
