Question Tire Brand Recommendation

I will be needing 4 new tires soon and historically I just got the OEM Michelin ones but since I hope to only have the RLX for another year at most, I do not want to spend that much: ~$1,800 @ the dealership; $~1,400 @ Discount Tire.

Discount Tire has a wide variety to choose from but I do not want to go too cheap either (winter weather here is not terrible; we had no snow at all this year but still want something that is generally safe in snow/ice). I also am your basic average driver so nothing too spirited.

Just curious on your thoughts/recommendations of these as I am not even familiar with most of these brands:
  • Kumo Solus Majesty 9 TA91 $132
  • Road Hugger GTZ A/S $160
  • Falken Ziex ZE960 A/S $179
  • Falken Pro G5 Sport A/S $189
  • Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 $190
  • Toyo Tire Extensa HP II $194
Thanks!

Are you going to trade in, sell privately, or sell/hand down to a family member (or friend/neighbor) you are going to see on a regular basis? I would probably lean towards selling in Spring/Summer and pick a cheaper all season tire with a low road noise rating. The RLX is pretty low in road noise compared to other Honda/Acura brands; but, it can still be kinda loud on certain surfaces. I would go for higher rated tire if I'm going to sell to a family member, friend, or neighbor.

Smile Trade-In

The plan is to just trade it in. I tried doing a private sell before online it was just too much extra effort, even with the added $$$ I would make.

Several people expressed interest in buying my RLX (relatively low mileage & good condition) but I have learned not to take those kind of comments too seriously.

Thanks!

Red face Update

Forgot all about this thread so wanted to do a very very late update. I ended up getting the Kumho tires 2 years ago as I knew I was not keeping the RLX much longer & did not want to spend a lot. Therefore, I went with a mid-priced tire and they were not that great. For some reason the air pressure would change dramatically daily. I would not recommend those tires to anyone.
