Rough ride in 14 RLX - bad amplitude reactive dampers possibly?

Feels as if tires are terribly over-inflated; but aren't. Wife's '16 TLX is much smoother. Others with similar experience? The ZF Sachs dual stage dampers don't absorb much initial shock (road surface expansion joints, lane markers etc) 30k mile RLX.

Early rlx models were criticized for the terrible ride. I think they fixed the issue on the 16 and up models. Also, this should be on the rlx forums.
