Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on 2014 RLX

I went to get a quote on tires today for my 2014 RLX at Discount Tire. I asked for the stock tires which i did get a quote, but he then said to consider a Michelin Sport Pilot A/S 3+. He said it is a better handling tire, higher speed rating and overall better tire.

Has anyone used these? How do you like them.

I do like the handling of the stock 19" tires, but am open if they truly are better.

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Loren

I have the Conti DWS06 tires size 255/40/19 and think they good. My next set will be the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ in the same size. I have 20k on the current set, and I will likely get the new ones in the late summer early fall based on my anticipated miles. Get the bigger size.

thank you for your comments. When you say bigger size, what do you mean? I already have 19"

I just put the Pilot A/S 3+ 235/45ZR17 on the '11 S60 $628 including road hazard, M/B & lifetime rotation, the BS RE970 Pole Position were crap!

Costco, good road hazard coverage, too. Going to put them on my wagon if I don't sell it first.

I don't have a set of these 3+'s but I will in another 33,000 miles. I'm a tire nerd and in my opinion those are the best tires in the world for an RLX. Especially for an AWD .... gets the lower temperature stamp of approval to utilize the additional sure-footedness.

I never skimp on tires or parts, conti DWS06 on the RL & '09 S60, DWS on the wagon & Pilot 3+ on the '11 S60. My V70 runs & handles like new, the only thing that ever failed prematurely was the alternator couple years ago. An absolute joy for almost 12 years, college trips & travel baseball all over the northeast, vacations to the Outer Banks, lotta great memories but, the stick has become impractical, time to move on when I find the right RLX Hybrid for DW and I'll happily take the reins of the RL!
