Major Computer Failure

Drove my RLX 500 miles in last three days without incident. This morning, when starting engine, engine started, but a large number of error messages appeared, looks like one for every warning light. Also appears that brakes are partly engaged without my intervention. Car undriveable. Has this happened to anyone else? Will arrange for it to be towed, but I do wonder what the underlying problem might be.

Not here, but I am wondering what RLX you have, 2014 or 2015 RLX PAWS or 2014 SH RLX?

Sorry - left out that it's PAWS

Bad battery? It happens, and will cause a wild range of issues and warning lights.

Interestingly, this morning the car is acting like nothing was ever wrong. The diagnostic messages are in the message file, but the car is working just fine. No sign of a battery problem that would trigger any warning.

Have your battery checked. This is a fairly common presentation for battery failure, though of course I cannot rule out other causes of electrical gremlins.

Thanks

No other indications of a battery problem, but I could imagine a problem if the circuitry is permitting an overcharge. Will check this.

I'm interested in knowing what else you've found out about this, if you have a moment, and what the dealer's diagnostics might have revealed.

Dealer did the software update that is mentioned in a recent bulletin. The problem has not replicated either before or after the software update.

any update on this? While driving my car started flashing a bunch of warning signs, pulled over and turn off my car and turned it back on twice, then it drove fine with no warning signs.

But my car still starts and drive. I took it into service and they might think the actuators are bad.

All this technology and they can't put a low battery warning light?

Yeah. They have a warning message for a low battery in the key fob. Why not for the main car battery!
