Question Acura SH-SH-AWD Error Msg

Hello,

This weekend we were driving our 2017 Acura MDX Advance when a message popped up on the dash saying that there was a problem with the AWD System. Looking @ the power distribution, we noticed that the batteries were no longer doing anything to the back tires (we were essentially driving a FWD only model @ this point). After a restart, the error message went away & everything went back to normal.

To be safe we still went to the dealership service dept who told us we had to bring it back when the error message was still there. Since there was no lit up maintenance required, we were told that the computer did not store the error code for diagnostics. Hopefully, this will not happen again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts? I realize this is the RLX forum but you have a bigger pool of buyers than the MDX currently so hopefully you will have some insight.

Thank you!

I have seen that before as well as many others who have the hybrid system. If it lights up again, I would take it in, but it is likely just a software glitch that clears itself with a restart. Just one of those things. No worries.

If all of our problems could be resolved by turning the machine off and turning it back on, the world would be a better place for sure.

Unhappy Update

We got that error message again this past weekend so we took it in to the dealership. They updated the software and said that should fix it. Fingers crossed ...

Question Update

Hello,
Just checking to see if your issue was successfully resolved? Just in case this happens to someone else.

Thanks!

Unfortunately no, I took my car to dealership last week. They replaced rear diff fluid. But yesterday, the same error showed up again, I have to take it to see the dealership for the second attempt to repair tommorow.

All Wheel Drive System Problem Power System

I am getting this fault on my 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid. It says, "All Wheel Drive System Problem" and "Power System". Typically comes on during the 1st minute to 10 minutes of the drive and found out that if I leave it on instead of stopping and restarting the car it will limit my speed to 76mph. At this speed the power is cut and it loses a mph and them re-accelerates to 76 and then cuts power again. It seems that the electric power will function a little odd or not at all during the fault.

Does it go away if you restart? And does it come right back afterward?

If I restart the car it does typically go away.

FWIW the original 12v battery was replaced a few months ago so I don't believe it could be that.

So this exact thing happened to me today. Always on the weekend…

Hopefully, it is just a software update.
