Bellanova White Pearl RLX Elite
So I took possession of my new ride yesterday morning. First impression is that I absolutely love the vehicle, as has everyone who has been in it so far. Ride quality is a little rough over bumps, but not unexpected as my 2012 TL SH-AWD Elite was the same with the 19" wheels.
As soon as I got her home, she got a thorough wash, clay, polish (Blackfire), seal (Collinite 845) and wax. Like others on this forum, I am OCD extreme with my vehicles. I also cleaned/conditioned the leather seats. It was the best 8 hours I've spent in a long time! This car will get a full detail typically every weekend.
I took a few pictures this morning and thought I'd share. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

You forgot to buy the rear spoiler. :-)

I have always added the OEM trunk spoiler to all cars I purchase but I actually prefer the RLX without. Not that it offends me in the least, but I find it makes it look a bit busy or an after-thought (like the rear body kit on a 4G TL). Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I love the look of this car in white. The only thing that keeps me from buying it is the ride and refinement (compared to others in the class). If it rides smoother and even more quieter, it's definitely worth 50K+.

This weekend I ended up doing a multi step detail process which started with a wash and clay - then a mild paint correction using Four Star Scratch and Swirl Remover.
I then topped it with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 and let it cure for 12 hours. For the epitome of overkill, I put a final coat of Chemical Guys Second Skin 6 and let it cure for another 12 hours. I'll layer it with a few coats of wax this week.
Anyway, here are some pics of the finished product. I love how the BWP now has a different appearance in various lighting situations...

Am I mistaken or does that car have the "Midnight Chrome" grille?

Do you have headlight washers?
Are the rear splash guards missing?
Nice choice in color.

My car didn't come with rear splash guards - perhaps they are an option....

Headlight washers may required by law depending on the light output. I would like to see a picture or video of them spraying.
I purchased the splash guards and received a set of 4.

I saw a BWP RLX in town today....That car looks stunning in person and as it moves...The lines, although subdued, are elegant!

Anyone notice rail dust or very small rust spots in the paint?

100% normal. It happens to all cars. Most dealerships will take care of this by detailing the exterior before delivery. If they do a half assed job, or simply just don't do it, you'll start noticing small rust spots. I'm pretty sure they are just brake dust that settles on the paint.
This doesn't mean your car is rusting. Just have the exterior washed properly, clay barred and polished and it'll look flawless. The clay bar is what will remove those spots.

a very quick run through:
- bucket wash your car. i like using a sheep's wool wash mit. Change water at least once (depends on how dirty the car is). First wash the upper half, then replace water, then wash lower half (from about wheel level, downwards). Don't drop your wash mit!
- use a good quality car wash soap. don't use dish detergent as it strips off any wax on the car (its ok to do it the first time around, or whenever wanting to remove old wax). keeping the mit lubricated across the paint surface is key to not getting swirls
- once clean, dry with microfibre. dont do this outside, as dust can settle and cause swirls. (same idea when washing)
- now clay bar. Follow instructions on kit. Once your paint is clayed, it is essentially "sterile".
- polish the car up to seal the paint and give it a beautiful lustre! I might be mixing up my terminology, but you want to apply a wax first and then a sealant over top of it to seal the wax in.
Like i said, read up on detailing specific forums on how to do this. the amount you can learn is priceless and will keep your car looking beautiful for years to come!

So I pulled the trigger on a set of Rotiform SPF wheels (silver machined). Wheel specs are as follows: 19x8.5, 5x120 ET35 on my stock 245/40R19 rubber and TPMS.
I wanted to stay with 19's to not jeopardize the ride quality. The slightly wider wheel and offset gave the car a nice aggressive flush stance. Of course it would look better with a mild drop but there just aren't many options for that in the RLX it seems. Overall I'm very happy with the outcome.
A big thanks to PGEORG for the rear mud guards. He's a very kind and knowledgeable resource to all members of this forum!

pgeorg is the man.
Dropping a RLX? There's a guy who installed bags and so if you are willing to spend the $$$$, sure you can do it. Unfortunately, as you undoubtedly already know, with so few RLXs on the road, the market is too small to support the aftermarket.

I was hoping that the Mugen coilovers would make it state side, they are made for the SH so they should be a perfect fit......although the suspension on the 2016
RLX is very well dialed in, softer than the 2014s but stiff enough for some spirited driving.

very beautiful RLX.
one thing I noticed that the shift knob is same as 2.4 tlx. It is not corresponding to the RLX even TLX.

I've learned all the lessons the hard way, that I don't want a black roof in the summer in Virginia. :-)
But...it looks good!
