What does Acura mean about "lease extension"?
I got the email from Acura today, showing the 2015 TLX.
Among the offers associated with it is something referring to a "lease extension on your current lease".
I don't understand how that works, since the object isn't to make your current lease longer, but to get you to buy or lease a 2015 TLX.
Are they saying that if your current lease is about to run out and the new TLX isn't here yet, they'll extend it until the TLX hits the showrooms? That seems odd, since the TLX is due to arrive at dealers any time now, and the fine print says something about a six-month extension.
Can someone explain it to me?

Pretty sure this is to keep those buyers with expiring leases in their current cars without needing to sign additional paperwork or changing the terms.
And unless the TLX is going to drop with more than a minimum of a dozen cars per dealership, there is still likely to be a bit of a wait while the first handful of buyers collect their cars and additional inventory becomes available.
Ultimately, Acura's goal is to keep their current leasees in their existing cars until they pick up the TLX. The 6-month bit is the limit that can legally be done without additional paperwork.

I am wondering why Acura does their lease that way. When my Infiniti lease was coming due and I was considering extending it Infiniti told me I can do month to moth for another year. Not sure why Acura has these fixed extensions.

Acura likes extensions in 6 month blocks but you're actually month to month during that period. You can stop at any time.

Yeah, 8 cars are in our first shipment. Obviously not enough to cover all the trim and color combinations. IMO, it's going to take arrivals ~40-50 a month before we're well stocked on selections. With this in mind, if you're looking for a specific color/trim, it could take months before it arrives.
When are those first 8 supposed to hit, Colin?

It is difficult to say, please remember that we are in Hawaii so our situation is very different. However, if they continue to experience difficulties with shipping, we might not get our car still September.
We are down to about 30 cars (we normally stock 150) and have about 25 2015 RDXs on the dock in San Diego. Some of them arrived there as early as June 26 but they are not scheduled to arrive in Honolulu till July 31.
