trailer hitch
Did anyone in MA installed a trailer hitch on 3G RLX SH and where?
I need it for bike carrier and looking at Uhaul to install or anywhere else that have experience with it

I know that the MDX Sport Hybrid specifically states that it is NOT suitable for towing, so I am assuming that the RLX Sport Hybrid would be similarly restricted. From previous discussions on the issue on this forum, I believe the concern was the "jerking" and "uneven acceleration" that can be caused by towing could potentially damage the twin motor unit. Whatever the reason, if Acura has stated that you should NOT tow with the Sport Hybrid powertrain, then I would recommend that you NOT install a trailer hitch.
A quick chat with your service technician at your Acura dealership would likely clarify the issue regarding towing before you proceed with installing the trailer hitch.

I had a Quick Look at the RLX Sport Hybrid owners manual and under "towing", the manual states:"Your vehicle is not designed to tow a trailer. Attempting to do so can void your warranties."
No further explanation is given.

I should add to the above comments that the Acura warning is related to towing a trailer and not hauling bicycles. The issue with having a trailer hitch on the car may come when you try to sell it and the prospective buyer worries about what the hitch was used for and whether damage to the car was done.

They do make a trailer hitch for Acura RLX's (such as this one from Curt https://www.curtmfg.com/part/12120 ). But as others have said, since Acura says not to tow with the RLX, even if you never tow with it, a future owner may question that fact. The other thing is that the hitch from Curt is the smaller 1 1/4" receiver opening, which (IMHO) is pretty small for a hitch-mounted bike rack. I've used a couple of hitch-mounted racks over the years on 2" receiver openings, and they work well. But with a smaller receiver opening, I'd be nervous about the rotational stability of the rack mount with the receiver, especially if you use an adapter to get the rack to mount to the smaller opening. I'd personally on an RLX consider a trunk-mounted rack instead. Just my $.02...
