SiriusXM Radio Question

The new Acura's have a new SiriusXM radio module that gets all of the added satellite radio channels. Has anyone investigated replacing the existing SiriusXM module with the updated one so that you can receive all channels?

Nope. :-)

I get more channels now than I know what to do with!!!

It's usually on BBC or NPR, because even Krell audio can't do a lot with satellite radio compression.

I almost cancelled satellite altogether but when they realized I was serious they gave me a deal I could not refuse.

You didn't come here to discuss this but if you have the time, what kinds of channels have been added that we would want to make a change to be able to receive?

Thanks very much for your help.

George:

My favorite channel is now Channel 311. I can’t get it with the existing radio. I had a loaner last week and the new radio module gets it.

There are different levels of SiriusXM pkgs - not a one-size fits all. Maybe your SXM pkg does not include 311.

Not all XM radios can receive all XM channels. I like C-Span but it's not on any package for any of my cars. The XM radio smartphone app has all channels and is free if you're paying full freight on at least one radio. As a workaround, you can connect your phone audio via BT to the car, and stream your desired channel from your phone.

This is now easier in my TLX with CarPlay; I don't pay for an XM sub in that car and just use the XM app from the screen. It's too bad Acura didn't make this now very basic functionality available on the even the newest RLX. I mean....really?
