Rlx recall fuel pump
My dentist happens to also drive an Acura and mentioned the recall. It seems notices will start going out this month. My 2020 RLX Advance just turned 100k miles this week. Zero issues so far. Original brake pads. My service tech says pads are still like new. I recenlty proactively replaced the OEM 12V battery. I bought the car new in July 2020. The car was manufactured December 2019 so the battery was 4+ years old. Still a great very reliable and very comfortable cruiser. 4 of us rode over to the DC Auto show in my RLX last weekend and all my passengers remarked how comfortable the RLX is including a new Blackwing owner.

Why are there so many recall re: fuel pumps these days? My last couple of cars had this recall done.

Strange to think about a basic fuel pump going bad when it has been a standard part of a billions of vehicle for +100 years? The most you had to do in the "good ol' dayz" was replace the fuel filter when leaded gas was a thing (flip side was you were also replacing the engine or transmission by 80,000-100,000 miles).

Yes, but why are they failing so quickly. All these manufacturers get their fuel pumps from same OEM? Denso?

I don't think that its the DI pump that is getting recalled. Isn't it the in-tank pump that's getting recalled? The one in the tank is still like 40-60 PSI output right? There is another pump that is at least 500PSI if I remember correctly. Its located near the fuel rail in the engine bay.

It just kinda sucks my MDX sport hybrid with 3.0L port injection is also on the list as my 3.5L DI RLX. Lucked out (for now) for the rod bearing issue found with the 3.5L MDX. Not sure rod bearing will be an issue for a later recall down the road for the 3.5L RLX tech NA and Sport Hybrid engines.

Don't think there is. The bearing recall is due to manufacturing error if I remember correctly. It only affects the TLXs due to where the J series engines for those cars were made. Considering it took this long for them to even find the issue, I doubt there will be more recalls especially for the RLX. Since the RLX and its engine were the only ones made in Japan for the NA market.
