New Owner and first question
Paired phone at the Dealer. Received call on the way home, answered with HFL, everything good. Arrived home while still on call. Turned off engine and expected call to remain on HFL as it does in RL. It did not!

Started back up and HFL resumed call. I then transferred to phone so I could turn engine off again.

Is this a setting? I know RTFM

oof, not that I'm aware of. All electronics go off when you turn off the engine, as far as I know.

Must be a way to turn engine off, but leave accessories on. Quick read of manual says push start/stop button with car not in Park? That seems odd. I know once everything is off, you push start/stop without foot on brake and it goes into accessory.

But in old RL, hfl would stay on even if you completely turned off (i.e., did not stop in accessory switch position)

One other thing I saw in the manual - you cannot open trunk unless doors are unlocked? Again seems odd as many times I lock car, but then need to get something out of the trunk. Going to check this out as I hope manual is wrong.

Just to be clear, I'm finding little nits in a totally AWESOME car so far

Just read the manual - that's where it says trunk can only be opened with doors unlocked

That is weird

I believe you, and I haven't read the manual, but I go out to the locked car and open the trunk quite frequently.

I know its not an RL OR RLX, but w/ my 2009 TL (push button start)

If I come to stop and I want leave the radio going or continue a phone call thru the car - I can just put the gear selector in anything other than park. Then press the start button to turn off the engine.

In my 2010 TL-SHAWD, when I turn the car off, in park, the phone conversation continues on. When I hang up the phone then and only then does the car enter OFF mode...

Me too, as long as you have the remote with you.

Enjoy your new RLX getakey - a very fine automobile.

I don't like that. :-) I got used to my 2010 TL doing the same thing, and I was surprised when the speakers went dead on the RLX the first time I switched off in the middle of a call.

There is a "button" on the phone screen labeled "Transfer". Press that and the call is transferred to the handset. Then turn off engine and continue with your call.

yes - saw that or you could use voice command to transfer.
just seems odd that they changed the paradigm.

going to have to get use to the accessory sequence. Have done it several times now, but have to think about it before I do it. I pick my wife up at train station and want music on while I wait

She's got the car today

Don't think that is right. If key is in pocket, trunk should open with doors locked.

OK, I found the discrepancy. There's a small manual (titled "Advanced Technology Guide") and a big manual (Owners Manual).
I read the small one first. It says trunk can be opened with button on the trunk lid only when all doors unlocked.

The big manual has more info - the above applies if you do not have fob in pocket and states that trunk can be opened with doors locked if fob in pocket.

Thus, when all doors unlocked, the trunk is considered unlocked and can be opened by anyone.

The turn off to accessory mode still seems odd - hopefully it will just take getting used to. Several times I stop and put in park, then realize I want to keep stereo on, so I shift out of park before pushing button. Then after pushing button forget that I'm not in park.
How do other push button cars work in this regard?

personally, I just turn off the car and then push the button twice if I want to turn the electronics back on. call it three quick button pushes and done.

I know that doesn't work well when wanting to keep a call going on HFL, but personally if I'm going to sit and talk on the phone for that long where I need to stay in the car, then I prefer to just keep the car running versus running down the battery.
