sorry if the pics are big, sent from my phone. exterior is immaculate but the steering wheel is dirty and there’s a little bit of loose skin on the bottom left that you can probably see in this pic. but otherwise love the rest of the interior. I found a nice blue one in Florida - even less mileage for slightly higher price, but the dealer wanted $1500 to ship it vs carmax’s $255. i went with carmax. but literally a day later I saw the one in FL got sold too. These are hot on the used market.

I split this post from the Owners' thread as that thread is really only for purchase info. Congrats! That is a great picture of the blue. You got a great price on it too, $33k. That is cheap for what you get in this car.
I'm really, really trying to wait for the Type S to come out, but posts like this make me want to jump sooner.
Congrats again!

Congratulations Phile!! I love that blue colour. I hope you have many, many smile inducing miles with your Sport Hybrid. If this forum is an accurate representation of the overall opinion of the Sport Hybrid, then you should LOVE it. I'm 6 years into owning my 2014 and I still love driving it every time I push the start button.
Enjoy.

congrats on the sweet ride if the stain on the steering wheel bothers you, there are several options to solve that.
1. get a brand new replacement steering wheel, not that expansive and easy to install, effective.
2. leather/plasti paint. effective.
3. clean the hell out of it using different solutions, not very effective.
I had stain on my previous RLX that has seacoast color. ended up spray paint to cover up the stain. Need to match up color tho, use the headrest pillow to get color matching.

You can find a few used in white for some reason, which I didn’t want. My preference was blue then black, but I only wanted the seacoast interior. I know it’s a PITA to keep clean but I wanted to have a light interior as all my previous cars had either gray or tan. I’m not a black interior fan. but I’m happy with the price and the car drives very nice. I’m getting used to the electric batteries driving the car under 50mph through the local streets. I’m getting great gas mileage, drove it all the way from Langhorne PA to central Jersey (about an hour) with a full tank courtesy of the dealer and it barely registered on the fuel gauge.

I ordered some leather interior sprucing up kit from Amazon. Also ordered custom vinyl interior dash kit (I bought a dark burl design) cause I don’t particularly like the light wood trim, I prefer the pre-refresh interior color combo of seacoast with dark wood. Then I’ll take a look at the GROM carplay retrofit. I’m not mechanically or electronically inclined so I might buy the kit and have my local car audio businesses handle the project.

Congrats on the RLX!
I use GriotsGarage Interior cleaner. Very mild, leaves no residue or scent behind, and cleans very well. Hand lotions wreak havoc on car interiors. Not sure if that wheel is cleanable or the protective skin over the leather is delaminating. I have the same color interior in my RLX. Only issue is some very minor dye transfer from my cone dyed Bonobos jeans. I have 23k miles. Monthly I use Griots Interior cleaner and a microfiber cloth to wipe down interior and it stays pretty much immaculate

I would jump, it’s very hard to find a sports hybrid that’s with good mileage and the color you want. And as less people buy the 2020’s there will be less on the used market later. All the NJ dealers are asking 36k+ for a decent mileage sports hybrid. It’s why I had to buy from Carmax and had this one shipped all the way from Illinois to PA where I drove to pick it up.

I found a red 2020 with only 8k miles within a two hour drive of me, asking low 40’s. Red, black, and blue are my current choices, so when I saw your post last evening, it certainly had an effect on me as I had just seen that car pop up a couple hours before.
Enjoy in good health!

That is an amazing price with just that many miles and in the color you want! I would get it. my budget was 35k so none of the Jersey dealers was getting my business. I saw another ‘18 blue in Florida that must’ve been babied because it only had 15k & it was a little more than 34k. I contacted the dealership but they wanted $1500 to transport the car to NJ. I even thought about it but the next day they sold it. A lot of the RLX SH are in white black and the two shades of gray, colors that I did not want. I think red & blue are the unicorn colors, so if that’s your first choice you should act fast cuz someone’s going to snatch it up.

My interior cleaning kit just arrived from Amazob today, it’s the bundle from the Chemical Guys. i watched their youtube video where they cleaned a steering wheel even grimier than mine so I was sold.

It was cheaper for the wife and I to fly one-way from NM to San Jose, CA, and rent a car one-way to drive to Sacramento to purchase our CPO 18 RLX hybrid w/ 7200 miles in the color combo we wanted (red/ebony). It didn't cost that much for 2 nights of hotel stays in Reno and Las Vegas for a mini vacation for the drive back home over the weekend. I think we spent a little under $1000 for everything for the 3 day weekend 2400 mile (1200 miles driving oneway) trip. I wished we took more time driving back since this was right before the lockdown and being stuck a home since. There were closer RLXs; but, the prices were $1500-$6500 more expensive for the same vehicles under 10,000 miles in the 18-19 model years (and none in the right color combo and 1/2 were CPO).

Congrats on the purchase, you got an amazing deal! You will love GROM. Ask me anything you wish, I'm one of the few here that installed GROM myself and loving it. You can definitely install it yourself, it super easy to do in this car. Hardest part is routing all the cables thru tiny radio opening.

so…i just discovered that our cupholders have a little ambient lighting.

Light in coin box, glove box and center console too. Very dim though hardly noticable

and the chrome trim lights up too. had this been equipped with real ambient lighting we’d be pimps.

Oh yeah. I didn't even notice chrome strips are led too. It's so dim I hardly notice. Would be nice to have adjustable LED lights like new TLX-S.
#18
yeah I ended up putting rgb led lights in the front and rear foot wells to have at least some type of ambient lighting. Wasn’t enough room between the trim to install the led “piping” like the new tlx-s so I went this route, with adjustable everything

lol i only noticed it cause i had a clear plastic cup and i was like why is it glowing? it’s so subtle that i never noticed it when it’s not occupied and i always have the lid open because i throw my cell phone in the cupholder.

that’s pretty awesome. I wish Acura would’ve invested more into this car. The seats have to be among the most comfortable I’ve sat in. I drove from my house to Atlantic City it’s about an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours one way, depending on traffic. usually in my other cars after about an hour my butt starts to hurt. Even on my Kia Sorento which is a 2021 model my butt hurts after a while. but the RLX I just kinda sink into the seat & forget about it.

I love the extra lighting Rez! It can feel like I'm looking out a dark cave sometimes in my ebony interior RLX with my dark tinted windows. Adding brighter ambient would really help with that.

After getting the car in FT, Texas I drove back to IL about 1050 miles - I was barely tired after 5+10 hrs of driving (during the Thursday afternoon and Friday all day) - comfortability of the car is beyond belief.

I think when these cars land on "foreign" sales lots, the folks don't know what they have. When I purchased mine, it was in mint condition at a Dodge dealership in Virginia. I was told the original owner was a retired "older" gentleman who wanted a more traditional car. He didn't like that the car appeared to "shut off" at times while he was driving or stopped.

I made the exact same comment when I first got my RLX SH. I don't know if the seats use memory foam, but it sure feels like you "melt into them" when you drive. Very comfortable.
The seats in my wife's MDX SH seem firmer and not quite as comfortable. They lack the same "melt into them" feel as my RLX. Whatever seat construction they used for the RLX, it must be too labour intensive or expensive to use on large volume sellers.
Just my butt's two cents.

Yup same alleged situation with my previous car's owner. Older gentleman didn't like that there was no button to turn-off start/stop feature. He traded the RLX in for a lower class ILX that's more basic. Craziness. The start stop on the Sport Hybrid is unprecievable, so smooth. Anyways at least that was the story the salesman gave me. Not sure if I believe him.
He must took a huge depreciation hit owning the car only 8 months and driving only 4100 miles. Car is minty condition. His lost my gain. I absolutely love this car and think I got a great deal.

I sometimes idle my car when i’m parked and the shutting off/on is very perceivable. Goes dead silent with the battery then it turns over the ICE which shudders the car. But during drive I don’t notice the change between the battery & the engine power exchange. It’s not a deal breaker for me.
Another thing i just discovered is that the volume knob can be pushed inward to be flushed with the stereo faceplate. I discovered this because I thought pushing it inward would mute the sound system, like in some other cars - it doesn’t lol.
And in the rear, with the armrest down, there’s a keyhole. I was thinking it’s a ski pass. But alls it does is open up a spring loaded cover plate that reveals a little pulley. And when you pull that…the trunk opens. What is the purpose of this? I was baffled.

Pressing into the roller wheel on the left spoke of the steering wheel mutes the audio.
The downloadable pdf manuals on the Acura Owners page is invaluable at discovering the full litany of convenience in these cars.

ah that makes sense. I still don’t see a purpose in the volume knob being able to be pushed in flush with the surface.
#34
I keep it flush actually (helps with overall design of the infotainment in a sense), and my primary volume control is a wheel on the left of the steering wheel
#35

My OCD really like the flush volume knob. I almost never use or raise it and always use the steering wheel controls exclusively.

No cover on mine either. Is that mic for ANC behind the lights? Since I'm using GROM exclusively I wonder if that mic even does anything or is it for piped in engine noise which is almost zero in this cat it's so quiet.
