First ding

Had my first ding removed today. It was on the driver side rear wheel panel where it is flat before creating the crease that surrounds the wheel. The mishap happened this weekend and was somewhat deep. The person that did it had to hit it pretty hard. The technician did a great job of removing the ding - no visible issue. I just wish more people would be respectful of others properties. I know I am when I opne my doors.

miner...I agree with victorber, it sucks to see your first ding. I am delighted to see that the dealer was able to fix it. I am like you, I can't understand why people are so selfish but if I ever catch anyone dinging my car, Ohhhh they will be in a world of hurt

I always park in the outer parts of the parking lot to avoid people parking next to me. Seems like more often than not, I'll get back to the car and there is a big pickup or SUV parked right next to me with all sorts of empty spots all around.

It's not just you. It happens to me too. I always park away from other cars and I'll come back and there's some piece of crap car parked next to me. I think they know why I park away and are just trying to anger me by parking next to me. And I can't stand for a car or SUV to park next to me with a load of kids in it. They throw caution to the wind and sling those doors open as hard as they can. Drives me crazy!!!

I park far away and take up 2 spaces so nobody can park next to me. A couple of times I found a note saying nice park job asshole. My girlfriend laughs and says she can't believe somebody actually took the time to write a stupid note. LOL

I do not know about other malls but if you parked like that at the one my daughter worked at (freehold raceway mall in NJ) you would get a ticket that carries a $50.00 fine especially during the holidays. It gets crowded enough without hogging two parking spaces.

I remember getting the first ding on a car I owned when it was a few days old. At the time I was all pissed off. Now with the loss of loved ones my priorities in life have changed. Cars can be repaired or replaced-loss of lives can not.

Never park next to a 2 door car. Their doors are typically longer and require a greater distance between cars for the opening to be adequate for egress.

I suggest installing the 24K volt Body Side Molding kit that knocks the a$$hole to the ground when his/her door gets to within quarter inch of your car!

additional: avoid parking on windy days-between car doors and runaway shopping carts it would be better to keep your car home in a garage.

I was writing for others who seem to be concerned about getting dings. My car is mostly definitely driven.

Add me to the list of those who hate door dings. In addition to parking in the farthest, least-used part of the parking lot, I also seek out the end parking spot on the far right side of the row - so I can snug way over on the right side of the space and in the hope that the person parked to my left will be a single driver with no passengers ergo, no door ding dangers.
