Does Buick LaCrosse looks like RLX to you?
On my way back from work today, a black Buick LaCrosse pulled to my passenger side at a light. At the first glance, it almost looked like a RLX. I thought that was the first 2016 sport hybrid in Houston (belonging to lone star per the other thread) until realization that it didn't have the hybrid badging. Anywho, after it turned green, I let it pull ahead of me and confirmed that it's merely a lacrosse.

Sadly the CAFE fuel economy requirements have resulted in many manufacturers adopting a similar body shape for their large sedans to minimize aerodynamic drag and thus maximize fuel economy. Once this basic aerodynamic shape is adopted as a starting point, it becomes a bit like NASCAR where the differences in the cars become harder and harder to spot.
Either that or Buick has copied the shape and style of the RLX in an attempt to piggyback off it's massive sales numbers (sarcasm intended).

As a new Buick owner (blame my dear spouse, I wouldn't have chosen a car with 2000's tech rather than 2010's tech), I can tell you there's no resemblance of any kind between the Lacrosse and the RLX. If you squint at the two side profiles, you might see minimum resemblance. Interior is FAR superior in the RLX, so much so that Buick is not on the same planet.

I think that GM have been doing a wonderful job adapting the wonderful Vauxhall and Opel designs to America as various Cadillac, Buck and Chevrolet designs.
It's getting them ahead a little bit, and the cars are better than they used to be.
But, no, I don't think any of them resemble the RLX, especially.

Those damn Buick commercials sure are catchy though

"That's not a Buick"
"That's what I TOLD him"... gets me everytime

how to make a LaCrosse look like a RLX
first, do a line of coke.
second, take a hit of ecstacy.
third, poke yourself in the eyes a few times followed by squirting some lemon juice into them.
fourth observe a LaCrosse from 50 yards away and it looks just like a RLX

There are so few RLX that I'm sure in some parts of the country people really don't know what they look like in person.

A comedian did a whole bit on LSD and that he didn't forget his name, he lost it. I would imagine after doing that kind of entertaining, an elephant would look like a Porsche. Funny comment.

Thanks for all that entertained this thread. It's good to know what everyone thinks.
1. After lone star brought back the first of two 2016 sport hybrids in the state of Texas from Dallas to Houston, I couldn't get RLX out of my mind. So any reasonably nice looking, new large car reminds me of that second sport hybrid at Goodson. Still don't have wifey's approval to get one as my tl shawd is only 2 years old...
2. It's probably about time to update my prescription anyway.
3. Justnspace, how do you know that I spotted the lacrosse in sugar land? Hwy 6 and town center blvd to be exact. Are you the driver of the lacrosse? I'm in riverstone further down the road on 6.
4. Reaffirming sport hybrid is the best car Acura has to offer at this time, better than lacrosse for sure.
