You know, where the engine turns off 3 cylinders and runs only on the other 3 cylinders.
And if the RLX hybrid does have this feature, then how do you turn it off ??

Yes. Some can feel it when it happens, but I can't. The only way I know it's happening is that the instant mileage goes to over 50 mpg. This happens on the highway, with light engine load.
If you run the car in Sport mode, cylinder deactivation is not on.

Thanks for the response Bob. But is there a way to turn off the cylinder deactivation when in regular normal mode (non-sports mode). That's what I'm asking.
Because I checked the manual, and I don't see anything about a setting or feature to turn off cylinder deactivation.
I know in other acuras (for example Acura TLX) cylinder deactivation can be turned on and off.

Three Wheelin'
vhdoshi, as 2011TL mentioned, the Sport Mode button is your solution if you want to disable the VCM.
If you are happily cruising down the highway with VCM engaged and those three active cylinders are getting you amazing gas mileage, but you realize that you are going to have to pass a truck hauling two trailers and oncoming traffic has just picked up so you can't afford the slightest bit of hesitation when you mash the throttle to make your pass. You simply reach down and press the Sport Mode button and all six cylinders come to life, the transmission takes you down a gear or two and when you spot that opening and extend your right leg, your Sport Hybrid will jump like a scalded cat around that truck and safely back into the right lane leaving the trucker to wonder, "Wow, what was that?" and leaving a large smile on your face. You then press the Sport Mode button again to resume "Cruise Mode" and smile yet again as you pass a gas station realizing that you still have plenty in the tank.
Just my two cents.
