Hi
my 2014 RLX side plastic side skirt popped out.
Never been hitted , no outside impact. (no damage, dent even scrach).
brought Acura stevens creek dealer, Santa Clara CA, and they said this one isn't covered by warranty.

Is it true?

I attached pics

lift the panel and put it back onto the knob. its very easy

Pretty much a big F--- Y-- from the dealership, especially for their flagship. But yes a simple fix it is as jusn explains.

So Is it right it can't be covered by warranty?

justnspace 10-29-2015 11:23 AM

why do you want it to be covered under warranty?

Pop it back into place. its one of those U-shaped locks and clips... so you can see the knob exposed, you'll need to LIFT the panel up to align the knob and the hole

this happened on my TL-S due to a curb :tomato:

sadly they don't pop back into place, you have remove the side skirt and attach it from the top end and then the bottom end

^i'm assuming because of the U-lock hole thingy

Doesn't sound too difficult. So how much did the dealer say this process would cost you?

Dealer said can't be covered warranty and bring the car to body shop. dealer can't do body related.

You are right!! U shape lock open to front. just drop by body shop and they said remove side skirt panel and re-assemble.
cost $30. ANYWAY problem solved, but disapointed Acura service. 15minutes work to un-screw, remove and re-assemble. Dealer said can't do that. but easier than oil change.
