Spare Tire and Jack

Is there no spare tire and jack in a 2022 RDX A-Spec Advance? I checked under the trunk and there’s a cooler and air compressor but I can’t find the jack or tire. Is this normal or am I missing something?

nope - 55k gets you no spare for US Models … but tires are run flats and they give you some type of spray rubber filler in a can as temp fix for minor flats 🤦‍♂️ I guess you can order a spare kit from the dealer & they will install it for additional $500+. I was really disappointed too

Bought my A-Spec Advance 4 months ago in the US. I had to pony up over $600.00 for the spare tire kit. The spare rides on the underside, but you access it and lower it to the ground from inside the trunk. My tires are not run flats. The inflator and tire sealant were included as part of the standard equipment.

I can't believe they hit you for $600. For anyone else reading this, please do not pay that much. A simple search will yield all the info needed. The kit is less than $200 (06421-TJB-A50), tire around $100 (size T155/90R17) and mounting/balance from any shop no more than $25. Installation is a breeze and can be done on the street within minutes. No need to lift the car or put on stands. Theres enough room to crawl under and screw in 5 bolts for the winch. You need to remove the 4 tie down hooks from inside the trunk and that needs a philips #3 bit. Other than that, straight forward.

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the info. I knew there was a cheaper way to go, but my problem is I'm 73 with the usual arthritis issues. No more DYI fixes for me. At least with this system, I could lower the tire to the ground while waiting for AAA. But thanks!

The thing that really ticked me off about this is that a spare is included with some of the non A-Spec trims. I just really like the way an A-Spec looks and, since I'm old school and want a spare, I ate the added expense as this may be my last car. No regrets. I'm enjoying it.

Ah ok. Totally understandable! Father Time catches up with us all unfortunately. I just hate that the dealerships take advantage of this, charging more than double what it costs them. It’s shameful.
I too am annoyed by the fact that Acura refuses to give the US a-spec models a spare, yet from what I’ve heard, it’s on the a-spec in Canada.

I ordered the spare kit/tire from a local dealer...

I picked up the parts while having the oil changed and asked how much they would charge to just the mount the tire to rim and they quoted me $40 so I said yes. Guess the tech didn't pay attention to the instructions and actually installed the kit (kinda at least - the hoist and tire were installed but they didn't remove the fix a flat kit so they just put the jack/tools in the empty storage spot. Guess I will fix that at some point but not gonna worry about it for now) .

The dealership only charged me the $40 so I guess I lucked out a bit
