265/40 for 20 inch rims
Looking to get some aftermarket 20 inch rims, was considering getting a bigger tire size, 265 instead of 255. Anyone had any luck with a bigger size?

Wouldn't that screw up your odometer and indicated speed?

always use an online tire calculator.
my favorite one is https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
the stock rolling diameter for the RDX is; 29.18"
the proposed tire rolling diameter is 28.35"
the proposed tire IS within the 3% variance, although cutting it close. it is OKAY to run this tire.
speedometer will be 2.93% too fast
the ultimate goal is to KEEP the same rolling diameter as stock.

Check your speedometer first, mine is already faster: setting my cruise control on 65mph gets me a GPS speed of 66.

You would need 265/45/20 rather than 265/40/20.
The variance is only +0.7%.
Stock is 255/45/20.
At least one owner posted that he was running Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ sized 265/45/20 with no problems.

As posted here, I am running 265/45/20 Michelin PilotSport 3 AS+ and I see no difference between the indicated speed in the cruise control and WAZE to be the same throughout the normal highway speeds...our prima fasciae speed limit on the local state freeway seems to be 80.

Dave how do you like the pilot sport tires? Looking for some all season tires to get. How is the road noise?

Arizona doesn't really have much in the way of traditional "all seasons" at least in the Phoenix area. I have a set of the same PS 3 AS+ on my Mazdaspeed 3 too. I can't tell if they are quiet because my exhaust is too loud, but they sure do run smooth!

replacing 255/45/20 with 235/55/20 snow tires
I posted this elsewhere but want to do one final check.. Running 255/45/20 stock tires on my 2020 A-Spec. I have a set of 235/55/20 winter tires from a previous car and in checking the online calculator, it shows that there is just under a 4% variance in the diameter and the speedo would be slightly off (3.8% slower). I don't care about this and am told that the tires should fit in the wheel wells no problem as they are just slightly taller but also narrower.
My understanding is that you should be within a 3% variance and these tires are just outside of that. Want to make sure that none of the systems will go haywire - TCS, ABS, etc...
I want to make use of these tires as they are sitting in my garage and are in good condition.
Thanks

Just remember, when the speedo is off so is your odometer... with a smaller diameter wheel your odometer will end up showing more miles than your are driving. This goes in reverse when using a larger diameter wheel.
