20 inch tire for 2019 rdx

Hey everyone

im ordering my 2019 rdx now and am buying the tires for the 20 inch black diamond cut alloy wheels myself and having the dealership put them on whe my car arrives. Does anyone know what size tire to get? I have a brochure from the dealer that lists the 20 inch A-Spec tire as 255/40r20 but googling online finds many sites (including Acuras website) saying 255/45r20. Plus another local dealer that has an rdx with 20 inch rims has 255/45r20 tires on it. Anyone know? And does it even matter?

The A-Spec size is 255/45/r20. I'm an owner and can confirm. It's approximately the same diameter as the 235/55/r19 in the other trims.

The 255/40/r20 would be one inch smaller in diameter, which would have a significant difference in the speedometer reading and other elements of the car.

These are the factory option installed by my dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Nice wheels! It seems like Thousand Oaks is a popular dealer here. I purchased my A-Spec from there and another member did, as well.

Very nice and was thinking of getting the same wheels on my white diamond pearl. Just waiting to see them in person. Could you take some closeups of the wheels? Not sure if you’ve noticed, but the wheels are mounted in different directions on each side of your rdx. I’ve wondered what direction they are supposed to go. Look good both ways.

Wheels

All four wheels are the same so one side of the vehicle will always look the opposite of the other. I think they are the perfect compromise of the blacked out look that so many like and the chrome that I prefer.

You should probably invest in a set of wheel locks

20" Tire Sizes

Sorry if I am in the wrong place or posting incorrectly....my first post. I just bought my wife a 2019 A-Spec, 20" wheels of course. Living in Reno, NV, we have learned the value of 'winter/ice' tires. The problem is there seems to be very few 255/45R20 tires of that type...and what there is are pretty pricey. Discount Tires website shows an option of 245/50R20 which seems to have a lot more choices at better prices, and specifically the tire I want...Continental Winter Contact SI. I have never changed tire sizes before. Any input on this size for this car. It's so new I don't know how much faith to put into Discount's showing this an option. It's around-town driving Dec to Mar. and I don't want to end up with rubbing or anything odd making the change.

Tire Rack also shows 245/50/20 as a viable option. The tire size comparison site shows it as 2.1% larger in diameter so it would affect the speedometer reading slightly.

Check options here: Tire Size Comparison

20" Tire Sizes

Thanks. Tire Racks showing that optional size was not quite as smooth as Discounts but does show it. The tire size calculator was helpful too. As noted, rubbing is just the biggest concern....or anything else I am not expecting. Slight speedometer inaccuracies are fine. I followed people changing tire sizes in land Rover LR3's (which I have closely) and rubbing was a big issue when barely changing tire diameter. I don't want to invest in another set of rims like 19's....because...cost.
