Rear cross traffic monitor stopped working

It used to work just fine (although the alerts could be louder). Now it doesn't work at all. I can't find anything in the User's Guide on how to solve this problem. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

Go to the dealer. RCTA is a part of the Blind Spot Monitoring System and uses the same sensors. I assume your BSM is not working either? Either way, make an appointment with the dealer.

Looking at the 651 page manual that I downloaded on page 502 there is a way to turn off all rear sensors.

You might want to look at pages starting at 501 through 506 (or so) and see if any of those topics help.

Thanks so much, SecurityGuy and Billyt1963! I looked at the manual per Billyt1963 suggestion (WOW, thanks for finding the page numbers!!) and was able to fix the problem. Someone must have fooled with the rear camera settings and turned the Cross Traffic Monitor OFF!! Thisnis such a great safety feature that I was so upset it had suddenly stopped working!

Per SecurityGuy's recommendation, my husband wants me to bring the car in to the dealer for a look over. Disappointed that there are some problems with things already: The black plastic around one of the back passenger door windows (outside) sticks out and we cannot push it back in place. There is also a black rubber tube-like thing (I guess it's like a "seal"? that runs along the back latch (inside) that has come out. The tubing looks like it meets in the middle but one side now stick out and we cannot push it back into place.

Is there a way to make the cross traffic and blind spot alerts louder? I set the meter volume to loud and it's still barely audible. I almost backed into another car because I couldn't hear any alerts. My last car was loud.

Now my back up sensors are not working. Cross traffic is turned on so will be going back to the dealer for the 3rd time in 2 weeks of ownership. I'm about ready to dump this for another vehicle.

Make sure you didn’t accidentally turn off the parking sensors.
Mine were off.
Must have bumped the button (the one marked with ‘P’) with my knee.

Everyone automatically assumes it is a problem with the vehicle and not them....we've all been there but that's why we have a manual to read

Thank you!! They must have shut it off when it went in for service.

yes this was an easy fix. Now if only the other issues could be fixed with the press of a button lol
