Do you notice gear changes in your 2019/2020 rdx during downshifts? Especially in the lower gears

its kind of a push forward and i could feel the downshifts. Is that quite common?

as you put miles on the car it will smooth out, new clutches will grab hard, and it’s not a CVT so you will feel some gear changes. But overall it is very smooth, especially once you get past like 10k miles. Upshifts with this transmission are super smooth, down shift definitely have some more response, personally I like it, makes it feel somewhat like a manual

 

Common. In my experience two years into ownership, some shifts are buttery smooth and others feel like a newbie trying to shift a manual.

 

Its not CVT, the gears are alive, what do you expect

 

My '20 has about 1600 miles and most upshifts are very smooth. Some downshifts, especially low speed, can be a little abrupt. More so if the AC is on. It's commonly said that this will improve over time. Even if not, it's not bothersome to me. It's just a contrast compared to upshifts that are usually unnoticed.
