2019 RDX Advance Q

We just got our new 2019 RDX Fathom Blue Advance! So far a great vehicle!

The manual show that the outside mirrors fold in when parking. Instructions indicate that there is a button by the LEFT-RIGHT mirror control that my car does not have. The owners manual I downloaded has instructions on the SETTINGS menu under the DOOR CONTROL features that sets this option. My car does not have this option as part of the menu. Am I missing something here?

I am stumped!

can anyone shed some light on this control or missing control?

Thanks.

Dave

As far as I know, they are manual folding only. Is this a Canadian car option? I with the mirrors did auto fold. Heck, the MKX I had would do that

There are a few more I believe.....

Active Front Headlighting System (I think the 4th or 5th jewel eye, swivels to illuminate the road on a turn)

Headlight washers

Remote Start using the key fob

Perimeter/Approach puddle lights

Think thats it....

Second row temperature control

.. sigh I don't get why there is no option to add the folding mirrors.

The MKX has the approach puddle lights too.. headlights light up as you approach the vehicle...

price - they are trying to keep the cost down to steal sales from Lexus and the Germans. It’s that simple.

I get that but hey, they could offer the kit! They could make $$ from labor having things installed, which I am guessing they will charge labor to install the remote start function.

There would be too much to tear sort to add a kit to the mirrors. If you’ve ever changed a mirror it’s not easy. Usually involves taking the whole interior door plastics off. And then imagine wiring that to somewhere in the dash. Way too invasive. Even the remote start accessory is a ton of labor (5 hours estimated).

I don’t believe so. I know the interior door sills are a dealer install option but that’s all I’ve seen.

Acura - Honda has been doing this for years, so I don't think its all about saving money......

Just my humble opinion.

Really no clue what they wouldn't offer those options here. All the RDX are built in the same plant!

Acura thinks the Americans are too cheap to buy them. This is borderline discrimination.

I cannot help but scratch my head.. it would not add 1000's to the cost of the vehicle to have it installed at the factory.

To me, approach lighting adds a level of sophistication and class to a vehicle. I assume that Acura does not truly want to be seen in the same category as those manufacturers that off those things. It's not a make or break thing for me. more of a "nice to have" thing. The MKX had those things and it just felt more upclass... oh well.. it is what it is. I could have stayed with Lincoln but chose not to

Totally agree with the Sophistication they should have this feature in the advanced package. It would not have cost them a lot of money to do so at the factory
