Aftermarket front spoiler option

Aftermarket front spoiler option
I noticed Acura offers an option for a sportier front spoiler, as shown installed below from a dealership website. The cost for the part seems reasonable but wanted to see if anyone here had this installed.
If I were to get this for my RDX, I think I'd want the silver blacked out, or painted to match the color of my vehicle.

I bought this already and will be having it painted factory color (Diamond White) along with the rear lower spoiler and the wing trim. Will post pictures once installed.

Won't have the rear pieces installed until this Friday. Will take pictures after...
You can get the part number from the accessories list from Acura.

Looks like it s about 1.5 hours labor according to the "Accessory Installation Times 2019 RDX" guide. So (YMMV) $240 labor? Part is $329 list. Then paint. So maybe $770-$800? And does not go on ASpec although I don't know why...I have an ASpec but I'm not sure what the difference is in this area that does not allow this part to go on. In looking at Acuras guide to install it (yourself or otherwise)....looks like a whole lotta work. Looks nice though.

Yea looks like a lot of work and disassembly to add this on. How do you know it wont fit an Aspec?

If you 'build' a 2020 RDX on Acura website, choose ASpec and then add accessories, this part disappears as an option. I had also seen about 25 minutes ago, a master list of options on the vertical, and a list of every RDX type across the horizontal with black dots signifying which RDX the part would fit. The ASpec in 2WD and AWD had no dots for the front lower trim. And again...I have no idea why not. My ASpec does not appear to have anything different than any other RDX in that area. You would think a part like this would be fairly easy to install...but yeah...those Acura instructions...pulling the entire front bumper off? No thanks...not in these days of plastic parts and clips. I have to say about every Acura accessory looks daunting to install. There are probably 4 or 5 I would like to add, but then look at those instructions and forget it. I did get the all weather mats in myself! As an aside, I have added the spare tire kit, the heated wheel, the running boards and the splash guards...or I should say, the dealer did.

So a daunting install of an OEM front spoiler needs to be custom fabricated to fit an Aspec? K that's a hard pass for me for now

Hmm, that would make no sense to me as we did the full A-spec conversion at the time the front spoiler was installed. This included the black trim with the "C" scoop which required new grill panels but bolted on fine to our bumper. As a matter of fact we even added the foglights as well. As you can see in the pictures I posted it all works fine. Ours is a 2020 RDX Tech Package model in Diamond White Pearl for reference.

Completely agree WunderWagen. I have no idea why two separate places on the Acura website remove that as an available option for the ASpec. I was not aware of any differences between ASpec and other models....outside of that C scoop you mention...but that doesn't appear to have anything to do with anything, plus, you got it on and added the spoiler....so who knows. I like the way it looks but no way am I pulling all that plastic off because I am sure way to much of it would end up snapped, scratched or broke. and to pay maybe $800 total to get it looking like yours...ughh...I have enough invested in this car for a while. But nice job!

I guess my timing was good, I had already negotiated a good install price to have the LED fog lights added during our purchase. When I found out about the spoiler option
I was able to work it in as part of the fog light deal for minimal extra cost since they had to take the front bumper off for the fog light anyways.

The front bumper needs to come off. Since we had this done at the same time the dealer was installing the fog-lights it wasn't costly so we didn't do it ourselves.
Here is a link to the instructions to install it.

That front lip/spoiler looks great and having it painted to match the car was a great idea. As for the ASpec, I am looking at the Acura website under RDX/accessories and for the "Lower Bumper Trim - Front", which I believe this is what this is, I don't see any mention of ASpec or non-ASpec....unless I am looking at the wrong thing or wrong place.
...just one more thing I wish the ASpec would have had standard...

Not sure why Acura says the front lower spoiler does not fit the A-spec.... as we converted our Tech RDX to full A-spec front end and added the front lower spoiler with no issues as can be seen in the pics.

I found this accent trim. Does not look like much in chrome (reflects a lot of black down there), but was going to do it in red anyway. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/223705445260 (I'm sure it is on ebay.com, this is the Canadian site).
The 3M tape is not thick enough, it almost fell off. Had to get .06 attachment tape, and I put some dabs of adhesive under it too. Don't want to lose my lipstick!

Oof that red accent in the front, that is exactly what I have been looking for a white A spec RDX - I was looking for ways to sort of match the white Nissan GTR Look on the spoilers with the red accents. I think it really bring things together for a tertiary color palette look on white/black subtle reds complimenting the emblems and such. New to the forums, I'm in the market for a White 2019+ A spec RDX and I love planning and researching waay in advance. Can't wait to score mine soon!
