RDX 3G Maintenance Interval Expectations
Hi Everyone. I know we are to "trust the Maintenance Minder" but I would like to have a general idea regarding the frequency of the 3G RDX maintenance services. Here's my best guess (in miles) having perused the RDX and Honda Accord Forums. Assume regular city / highway driving,. What do you think ??
Oil 8,000
Engine / Cabin Filters 30,000
Rear Differential Fluid 30,000
Transmission Fluid 30,000
Brake Fluid 30,000 or 3 years
Brake Service 30,000
Spark Plugs 120,000
Coolant 120,000
Oil 8,000
Engine / Cabin Filters 30,000
Rear Differential Fluid 30,000
Transmission Fluid 30,000
Brake Fluid 30,000 or 3 years
Brake Service 30,000
Spark Plugs 120,000
Coolant 120,000

Engine/Cabin air filters: check ever 6 months or 3k miles. They can get very dirty. It all comes down to where you live. Buy a geniune filter from Honda/Acura and replace it your. Some aftermarket make high quality filter (lots of pletes).
Diff fluid I believe the manual said 15k miles. Check the manual.
Brake fluid- i usually check the level and color. If the color gets dark i remove some and fill with new fluid. Again I would consult the manual. When I change the brakes is a good time to also replace the fluid.
The manual said the spark plugs are good until 100k miles.
Coolant I check / refill as needed. 120K miles is too high in my opinion.
Best to consult the owner’s manual and your driving habits/condition.

From what I have heard trans and diffs need first service at 15k miles then everything 30k after unless you live In mountainous areas and/or pull trailers a lot (these are very very easy to change by yourself, the manual basically states pull full plug, then drain with drain plug, replace washer and close drain plug and fill until it’s level with the bottom of the full plug, that’s the same for the diffs and trans, use the right fluid tho), my oil lasted about 6.5k miles before I got to 20% and then I just had them do the change.

I didn’t see it in the owner’s manual. If it holds true with the Acura on our two Honda’s the pollen/dust filter should be on the passenger side inside the glove’s compartment. In some vehicle it’s under the passenger side dash.
I will take a peek in July time frame and report back. My vehicle has less than 1500 miles.

I have Hondas too, and you pop off the glove box and it is behind it. A quick look at this box does not look like the pop-off kind. I keep searching for you-tubes about it, but none are up yet.

Found it. Cabin air filter location on ‘19 RDX is the same.
This is much easier than I thought. No need to pop open the Glove compartment. Just slide out the upper tray, push up the place plate. You will see the cabin filter cover. Push-in two tabs to open it.

That's the way it is in our 2014 MDX. It takes longer to empty out the glove box than to replace the filter. YMMV.
