Nav volume

Figured out that when the nav is speaking you can adjust the volume of the nav using the steering wheel or the control knob indepenopf the radio volume. It had to be when it’s speaking and a little nav I con will pop up when you adjust indicating that your changed the nav volume. When you’re adjusting the radio a little tunes icon shows up. So you don’t have to fiddle with the menu with the touchpad.

so for those claiming that there is a glitch with the volume of the nav, I think you are inadvertently adjusting the nav volume thinking you are adjusting the radio. It’s not a glitch.

I turned mine off.. I hate that turn by turn crap. ... "In 1/2 mile, turn right. In one quarter mile, turn right, in one thousand feet, turn right...." How helpful is that for most people? .. /endrant

Me too. First thing I did when I got this car, and every other car with a Nav that I've bought. Nothing more annoying than hearing "Continue Driving on I-95 North" or whatever.

I drive 25k a year on average. Even when I know where I’m going the nav is on. I like hearing another voice when I’m in the car for 3 hours 😂

seriously hough its helpful when im on the phone but need to know when to turn. Helps my drive while multi tasking

I think this is happening with me although I still think it’s a glitch. If you adjust the volume to “off” in the settings, then you shouldn’t be able to adjust the volume. If you can, then there should be a setting to “disable” the voice

One time I got about half an hour along a well-travelled route with the GPS set, before I decided to listen to what the GPS was yakking about and realized it was trying to tell me I was driving a different well-travelled route than I had intended that day, in a completely different direction.

Not a fan of being nagged, but there is value in redundancy.

In the 2005 MDX, I could customize the frequency of guidance prompts, ftom “minimal” to “maximum.” I set it to minimal, which would only tell me once when it was actually time to make the turn. I don’t know when they did away with that setting, but I wish they’d bring it back. My 2013 RDX did not have it; I quickly turned off voice guidance, which had become very annoying. It can be useful on a long trip into unfamiliar territory, especially at the end of a long day’s driving when my attention level goes down. But having to hear all those prompts (3 per turn) at the start of a trip while getting out of my own neighborhood and town, which I already know how to do, was just too painful.

Too bad the system isn't smart enough to know when you frequently travel the same streets and roads. Like you said, being told how to get out of my neighborhood is annoying as hell. I have many lefts and rights to take just to get tot he main highway.. my head aches by the time I hit the hiway if I leave the audio for the nav on

I spoke with Acura Client Relations today, and they are aware of this and admitted that it was a problem. Hopefully they will be working on a fix for this soon.
