Talking APPS - Anyone else get annoyed with them?

You know, on the steering wheel, you can get to the Phone and the USB, etc. I use them from time to time as they are convenient (and I don't like talking to the car) but they are instantly overridden by incoming info screens from the car - Low Fuel, Seat Belt, Idle status, Step on brake, etc, etc.

I get totally annoyed when I press APPS - PHONE - scroll through the call list, and just when I am ready to press the wheel to select the person I want to call I stop at a stop sign and the display turns to "Step on the brake to activate the engine start deal", thus totally cancelling my APP selections.

Hey, I know I can just say "Call Fred Home", but they put this feature in the car, it should work better. If the system is in the APP mode, the info messages should be shunted.

END RANT - MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I, myself, would never call Fred anywhere.

I fully intended to get an Advance model but I absolutely HATED the wheels. I was then swayed by the black trim and wheels of the A-SPEC (not to mention the $2K difference) and went for the A-SPEC. Not looking back really. In 2 years I will re-evaluate.

I agree the apps feature is convenient. Especially to change from say FM to Sirius. I usually keep the audio on the smaller portion of the display so in order to change audio modes not using apps I would have to reverse the display then go back to home then change the mode. The apps allows me to do it easily "IF IT WORKED." I find it only works half the time for changing modes or stations, etc. Otherwise I get an error message, something like feature not functioning. I called Acura who recommended I do a hard reset of the system. Of course that means losing phone pairing and all the audio and phone settings. I haven't tried that yet, but I probably will when I have time.
