Would you do this trade?
My Acura RDX AWD A Spec Liquid Carbon Metallic got keyed. It’s $1,000 to repair my vehicle has 16K miles on it it’s a 2022.
For $3,000 total OTD I can trade it for an AWD Tech package same color etc.
Would you do this? By the time I get a rental car that’s another $500.
I love the black out trim on the front and sides but honestly not too crazy about the A Spec wheels.

Given you have to spend $1k for the repair and another $500 for a car rental, you are 1/2 way there to a new one with zero miles. Guess you have high deductible on your insurance and no rental car reimbursement? Guess the motorcyclist isn’t paying for the damage?
If you are ok with moving to a different trim level, like the RDX and all else equal, appears to be a food financial decision. Will you be happy with the AWD tech package?
You can also flip the coin, if you like your Aspec, then you’ll be saving $1,500 just getting it fix - verse buying a new one.

I wouldn’t do it.
The Tech is priced $3,000 lower than the A-Spec so you’re actually spending close to $6,000 for the trade.
The Tech is very nice. I had one. I actually prefer the chrome trim and 19 inch wheels.
BUT: The A-Spec has the black trim that you prefer and has better, ventilated front seats, fog lights and a better stereo.

For my TLX, I decided A-Spec was worth the upgrade in overall look and better ELS system vs the Tech. I agree the wheels prob weren't worth the price of admission but if you own your vechicle, you could always change them out down the road (especially after they've been dinged or use them w/winter tires, etc.)

I had a '20 RDX Tech (really liked it) and traded it 6 months ago for a '22 A-Spec. TBH, I'd have a tough time going back to a Tech. (Then again, I'm good with the A-Spec wheels, too.)
