The word "Minimal" in the instrument cluster screen needs to go.
If no one ever brings it up, Acura will never improve it.
Why on earth they included the word "Minimal" in big bold letters on a page that is intended to be blank is beyond me. This is poor design execution. Acura should have just left it blank.

Probably for the same reason documents sometimes have "This page is intentionally blank" on them. There is always one in the crowd thinking the M.I.D. is broken because there isn't anything displayed.

I totally agree, it just stupid, say minimal when going through the gauges but once it’s zooms into and stays on that gauge make that go away, just a stupid design

Expanse me
I have already complained/suggested to Acura to fill the 'minimal' (meaning blank) screen with something like the MPH (Aspecer here), oil temp, or something very useful three months ago. It all depends what data they have access to in that display I figure. STILL, use he damn spot...

It will be awesome if instead of a "blank" screen it would show at least a digital speedometer....

That is how you send a message to Acura and politely mention suggestions like you are here. The more of the same suggestion they get, the higher the probability it will happen.
The link should show a page where you can suggest to Acura. Are you not seeing that?

And then there is the issue of the start up screen. Once you have the “look” you prefer it goes back to the cluttered mileage and odometer screen each time you start up. Grrrrr......

I agree. This is one of dumbest things I have seen in any car. I have sent Acura an email on this subject. We need to push back. My dealer agrees. Replace it with a digital mph. I have a 2021 RDX and the 2022 model has not changed. C’mon Acura. Make us happy!

It’s the same in the new 2022 MDX. Oh, and they removed the compass heading from the instrument cluster so that you have to put the info display on ‘compass’ to see the heading. Of course if you are navigating you cannot display the compass heading at all. Dumb and dumber.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people. If it didn't have 'Minimal' written, people would accidentally scroll to that screen and think their CID was broken. It annoys me too, but I get why Acura did it.

Everyone said that they needed to replace the "minimal" screen with a digital speedometer. Well, for 2022, they added a digital speedometer but it didn't replace the "minimal" screen - it's still there in our 2022 RDX!

Why does the minimal/blank screen need to exist in the first place though? Our 2019 TLX didn't have a blank/minimal screen when scrolling through the various pages/screens. What purpose does it serve in the RDX?

I turn the infotainment off too. Not so much because it’s distracting, but to preserve the display unit (plan on keeping the car for 10+ yrs unless it becomes a bigger heap than it already is). Also, at night, it’s nice getting the cabin a little darker.
As for the CID, there’s literally nothing useful that I need to monitor on it. If I want to know my tire pressure, I’ll scroll to it. The gimmicky SH-AWD screen is pointless. Don’t really care about MPG. I have no issues reading the analog gauges, so don’t really need to know my speed on a digital display. I do my oil changes at 5k miles, so I couldn’t care less what my “oil life” is. Am I missing one? So yea, I put it on Minimal as the info, to me, is almost useless … and I suppose it boils down to it being more distracting than anything else.
The only thing I wish they would add is the time to the CID area. When I have the infotainment screen off, there’s no way for me to see what time it is aside from turning the screen back on or looking at my phone. Maybe replace the “compass” with the time, because why the Hell would would anyone need that on an RDX that isn’t going to leave paved roads?

Not on the 22. It stays on the last screen selected even after multiple vehicle restarts.
