Windshield Wipers “Oh well, no one will notice”
Washed the new RDX today and the wipers dont stand up and if you i almost scratched the inside of the hood trying so. Maybe it can be done turning them on and cutting the ingniton but to much hassle so i just lifted and washed... No big deal but seems the designers missed this...

Refer to page 549 of the manual.
Changing the Front Wiper Blade Rubber
1. Set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF.
2. While holding the wiper switch in the MIST
position, set the power mode to ON, then
to VEHICLE OFF.
u Both wiper arms are set to the
maintenance position as shown in the
image.
3. Lift both wiper arms.
I'm disappointed that newer vehicles require the extra step to raise the wiper blades. A simple hinge like older vehicles would suffice. Why make it more difficult?

Freaking joke, can;t wait to see folks struggle with this, how hard was it to make it like the older models. Used to take me 5 min to change blades, not I will need to fond the manual every time until I remember this process.

This is a PITA issue. As Curious3GTL said, the same design was used on the passenger side of the 2G TL. To my knowledge, the 2G TL does not, have an "override", so you have to cycle the WSW, just to clean the blade!, thoroughly! 2G Acura Legend models, had a two position, summet/winter setting, which worked well.

My Beemer and others I can’t recall had this same feature. I don’t know why—but as someone suggested, maybe better aerodynamics. Either way...a first world problem.

What's interesting about the gas filler is that the door doesn't have a separate release button, it disengages when the doors are unlocked. That seems smart to remove an extra button—but in NJ we can't pump our own gas (why? who knows) so if you don't get out of the car, it's not intuitive how to release it. I set the door locks to unlock when in park, so problem solved. There are a lot of customizable features like that, so it's worth it to spend some time going through them all and adjusting to your needs. Now if only I can figure out how to turn off the rear cargo light when we're at the drive-in with the hatch open...

I, for one, like the fact that the wipers are more hidden by the trailing edge of the hood.
It was easier to change blades on the TLX but, they were always exposed.
I prefer them to be hidden.

er........... My almost 10 yrs old Benz is like this... don't see what the big deal is. Actually better this way if you think about it. It's hidden away and no one can flip at will.

i never got the benefit of propping them up. They still freeze, just not to the window. Once you scrape off the snow and ice, and turn the defrost on, the wipers are fine. The problem is most people just want to clean off a 6” x 6” peephole and go home from work cuz nothing says fun in the winter like dodging sheets of ice falling off the top of your car cuz your a lazy POS. Lol 😂

This could happen, for example, if the wipers were raised if expecting freezing rain and then the car is started via Remote Start".

At the very least, the way I read the manual is that you have to take the wipers out of the maintenance position before you can use your wipers as normal.
Refer to Page 551 of the manual:
10. Lower both wiper arms.
11. Set the power mode to ON and hold the
wiper switch in the MIST position until
both wiper arms return to the standard
position.

With a "maintenance" position, one would hope that the software algorithm would not allow the wipers to cycle when remote started.

assuming the remote start is programmed the same way as my TLX, wipers will not activate during remote start. Acura tries to keep the car a little stealthy and doesn’t turn on lights, radio, etc when the car is remote started to draw less attention to the unattended vehicle.
