Will Acura pay for my moonroof emergency repair?
My 2019 RDX decided yesterday it didn’t want to close anymore. I am away from home, it’s raining, of course, and I’m far from any Acura dealer. I took it to a Honda dealer, with a request that they just get it closed somehow. They did, and warned me not to touch it until I can get to an Acura dealer.
They charged me $125 for labor, and said they can’t do Acura warranty work. My question: Will Acura reimburse me for this, or am I on my own? If so, how do I make the claim?

You'll be bringing it in for the warranty work anyways, so explain the situation to them and ask if they'll reimburse you for the repair (obviously, bring the Honda invoice). If they refuse, contact corporate. If they still tell you to pound sand, despite it being a fault on their end, just don't buy another one of their products in the future. I know I wouldn't.

I remember my first MDX, a 2003, came with a crank that could be inserted into a socket in the roof to close the roof manually if necessary. As the roofs have gotten fancier, e.g. the panoramic roof in my RDX, that may no longer be doable. I’ll be interested to find out, when I bring it to my Acura dealer next week, whether this is a real hardware problem like a bad motor or some glitch in the software/firmware. My guess is the latter.
