Thinking of adding roof rails and cross bars on my '19 RDX. OEM or aftermarket?
Hello, I'm thinking about adding black roof rails and cross bars to my RDX. Any opinions or advice on whether I should go with aftermarket (around $250) or OEM (around $750)?
I won't be putting too much weight on them, if I ever use them (trips to home depot/lowes, small kayak), but I thought it would beef up the look.
Is it worth paying more than twice more for OEM?
Aftermarket in question

and OEM parts

Thanks,

Well if you think it would be more for looks, then $250 sounds a lot better, and at last in the pics look nice. If you think you would attach something to it, just consider....who made them, what is the strength/quality/weight bearing, and any other factors that are important to driving along at 60 MPH with stuff you value attached. Also, from what I understand, that 'wing' does or can add wind noise....but, they do add something to the look!

That's true. The RDX isn't the quietest car I've owned, but I've also owned louder less aerodynamic trucks/SUVs and haven't minded the noise much. I suppose going with OEM is worth it for the safety of knowing it's tested and designed by Acura, and not a random team in china for a chinese made cheaper solution.

That looks great, the color, 'running boards', splash guards and those roof rails/cross bars. I'm surprised the 'rails' are not on the car when it is new. For some reason I thought the rails normally were on SUV's. But anyway, it adds a nice look, but 100% I would never attach anything to them in my daily driving life, eve, if I has had them installed. Looks like some window guard..things also. Whatever they are called. What holds them on? Adhesive?
