OK, I have a 2020 RDX Technology trim level. Getting more disappointed with this vehicle by the day. One of my gripes is having the vehicle read a text message. The car reads the time down to the second, every recipient of the message, etc. before getting to the actual message. It can take minutes just to get through the time and all the recipients!

Is there any way to simply get to the message?? My low level trim F150 just reads the message, pure and simple.

Did you try having Car Play read your messages instead of the Acura infotainment system? I’ve stopped using the Acura infotainment except for short run trips/errands.

i have an Android, but have not tried using Android Auto. You would think the programming would allow for just reading the text message itself. It’s really an issue when there are multiple recipients of the text, it lists them all. I’ve looked through settings but I’m stumped.

 

Perfect example of the developers not being given well-thought-out requirements that consider the end user.

 

I have to take the vehicle in to have a vicious dash rattle fixed, and I’ll ask them if there is a fix. I just thought I might have been missing a setting or something. Thanks!

 

It only does that on group texts. If it is a single recipient text, it will only read the message. I don't understand why it has to do that on group texts.

 

Thanks. Unfortunately when it is a group text it takes longer to read through all the recipients. I’ll ask the dealer about it when I bring it in for the dash rattle.
