Just installed the OEM spare tire kit on a 2021 RDX.

The instructions state "Using the appropriate tools in the vehicle, tighten the spare tire hoist until it clicks. Failure to do this can result in noise and/or damage to the hoist cable."

When I lift the tire up and tighten it as hard as I can with the included tool, I don't hear any clicks.
Anyone else?

We have a 2020 Advance that came with the spare tire. I tighten it as tight as I feel comfortable doing and have never heard it click.

It definitely eventually clicks if you keep tightening, I have heard it before

The instructions are quite emphatic that the tire should be essentially level prior to raising it.

How long does the install take? I need to order my spare kit soon. Any places for the best price?

Instructions are at 2020 spare tire installation. Just looking it over I would expect about two hours to install. Other sites say a #3 Phillips is good to have. In addition the removal ot some of those clips I’ve found can damage the original beyond use. So plan on some replacements being needed. Harbor Freight has an assortment available but they may or may not fit.

I dropped the spare this morning to check the pressure and add air. I use a 1/2" drive ratchet wrench to lower and raise it and I tightened it until I was afraid that something was going to break and there was still no click.
