Roof Rails, Crossbars, and Ski Attachment
Hello guys,
This is my first post, I have some questions and at the same time, I hope I am providing some information.
I already purchased roof rails from http://acurapartswarehouse.com/ for $<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->468.34 w/ tax and shipping:
Here are the options I looked into:
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> Factory OEM:
Crossbar $217
Ski Attachment $195
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> Thule: Unavailable for rdx, using BMW X3 as reference:
Feet and Clamps $339
Aero Bars $220
Ski Attachment $199
Yakima:
Feet and Clamps $351
Aero bars $220
Ski Attachment $199
So I have two questions right now:
1. So it seems like it's a no brainer to get the factory one, Do you guys have a parts website recommendation for where to purchase it?
2. Does anyone have an argument for getting an aftermarket?
Thanks so much!

I think the biggest argument for going factory is you already have the roof rails. I had the dealer include the rails and crossbars as enticement to purchase the vehicle. I use the Thule ski racks I already had to attach to the crossbars.
The downside of the factory crossbars is the position of the back one is fixed and there are only two positions you can use for the front. Installation of the crossbars is not hard, but seems much more complicated than it needs to be, especially compared to every other vehicle I’ve ever owned with roof racks. Over complicating things seems to be a way of life when dealing with Acura. However, I install the bars in December and remove them in March, so it’s no big deal.
