A proud new owner of an Acura RDX Advanced SH-AWD
Hello, everyone, I have been lurking and reading your forum for many months. Yesterday I took ownership of my new Canyon Bronze Metalic RDX with AWD. My last car was a fully loaded 2011 Ford Edge and before that, I had a Nissan Murano (I think a 2007 or 2008). I have spent literally months researching what to buy and light general new car research for over a year. In the end, I was picking from a fully loaded Ford Edge, a Fully loaded Kia Sorento, and the Acura RDX. The Edge and Sorento fully loaded were luxury adjacent and acquitted themselves well in test drives. Each had their pluses and minuses but in the end, I decided it was worth the extra money to go with the Acura.
I am looking forward to finally participating after all these months of reading the posts every day.

It was a late choice for me. The Acrua "build your own" website really doesn't do that color justice. On their website it looks dark brown, in person it looks bronze and really "pops" in the sunlight

Congrats to you! I hope you love your RDX as much as I love mine. It's been a pleasure to drive over the last 6 months.
Please post some pics when you get a chance, I'd like to see that bronze. I had a Black Copper Pearl TLX and loved that color in the sunlight.

I've never owned a brown car and never really cared for the color, but once I saw the sparkle of that canyon bronze in the showroom, and that it came with parchment interior, I was sold. I went in expecting to purchase the red, but it was just too bright red for me. Congrats on your purchase.

Congrats and good luck. Canyon bronze was actually my first choice. But as I shopped and walked around dealer parking lots, I started to like the pearl white a little better. I do wish I had gotten the espresso interior, but the wife made that call. The espresso is richer looking IMO.

Congratulations!
I also have the '19 SH-AWD Advance, but mine is Lunar Silver.
LOVE this car! Everything works precisely as the manual says it does, & the features are terrific.
Obviously, you were not deterred by the negative posts while you were deciding. There should be a separate area for complainers & fans, IMO. I am sure some of the complaints are valid .but a lot of them stem from not reading the manual or are people who apparently think Apple Car play or Android Auto are major issues. I do not, & I get tired of the bitch & moan.
Enjoy your new car!

I have to confess, I am 55 and the RDX feels like a fountain of youth. When I bought it, I picked it based on value, looks, and features. I thought I was too old to care about power and handling. Boy, was I wrong. It's ONE FUN SUV to drive. It's got all the power you want and it handles like a quality sedan! Just one day of driving, but I never enjoyed driving something as much as I enjoy driving my RDX!

I won't deny the negative posts gave me pause. Like you said though, not everyone is willing to put in the effort to learn the car and get the most out of it.

That's my EZ Pass transponder. When I had my Nissan Murano the traditional windshield one didn't work so they gave me the license plate alternative. I have kept that option since. I don't know why they make everyone put that ugly thing on the windshield.

Here's something you can't get in Canada: Canyon Bronze with Parchment interior. I might have opted for this combo, but the only interior available with Canyon Bronze up here is the inside-of-a-coal-bin black-on-black-on-black. Parchment and Saddle Brown are only offered with black or white exteriors here.

Love the color it looks really great
wish I had a bumper protector when this happened thursday, they were pushed up hard against my car

LOVE LOVE LOVE that blue on the A-Spec. Absolutely stunning color!!! I would be FUMING id my car was hit like that. I hope you checked for damage and waited for that other idiot to give it to him.

Thanks for the update. We don't have those in my neck of the woods. At least your EZ Pass Transponder can double as a bumper protector. Stay safe out there.

Ouch!!! That gray Toyota is clearly encroaching into your parking space. As they say in the NBA, "That foul was OFFENSIVE!" Not me, but a friend I know would have "prosecuted with extreme prejudice" on that violation, if you know what I mean. At least your front license plate provided some protection. It makes me rethink reinstalling the front license plate on my RDX.

You have such a beautiful RDX. It was parked clearly in your parking space. It's hard to miss that blue paint job. The careless Toyota driver just drove away? Not me, but I know my friend would not have talked to a security guard. He would have taken the law into his own hands.

Congrats on the car, and I'm very glad you did not get swayed by the very vocal negative brigade. Those people clearly have issues with the car and feel like they got burned on their purchase, which is their right, but many others of us remain happy and tolerant of the infotainment trials.
As for the car, it's AWESOME!!
And as for bumper protection, I bought the license plate holder from Weathertech that acts as a bumper for cases exactly like the one shown above. So far no one's hit me, but maybe this $25 frame would help.

I believe he (she?) understood the A-Spec does not have the adaptive suspension. He was concerned about the possible expense to repair the adaptive suspension and also did not want the Advance wheels.

How did I read that so wrong? This is what happens when I go on to acurazine before waking up fully. Sorry about reading that so wrong.

I got mine last Saturday and loving it! I must admit I am overwhelmed by the infotainment unit but determined to have it mastered by this week. I have not had a chance to take many pics yet.

You are not missing anything by not having those. I had it once and it got stolen. I didn't realize until I missed several tolls few days in a row. Since that happen I only get the one that sits behind the window.

That’s what I thought too, too easy to steal. I have mine positioned so I don’t see it behind the mirror.

OP, welcome and nice color!
Are you kidding me! I just don't understand why some people do this. I can also tell you intentionally parked your car FARRRR from everyone LOL! I do the same. I would be furious! For these stupid reasons, I ended up purchasing a front bumpshox for my RDX. BTW, I have the same color. Thank goodness it was not scratched!
