DCH Acura in NJ gives $2500 off MSRP right off the bet through true car online quote for aspec sh-awd. But sales stats show that it should be pissible to get 4k off.

if it makes you feel better, I only got the $1,000 loyalty from Niello Acura when I bought my RDX. Guess I had to pay the $2,500 premium to be able to get mine in June lol

$4-5K off by this time was predicted by a few of us back in June. Hopefully people weren't swayed by a user or two that were adamant that $4-5k was impossible because that is what a sales guy or general manager told them. Acuras nearly always sell for under invoice. Lesson learned. The hype always dies down and the reality that these are mass produced vehicles sets in. Enjoy your rides either way... You got to enjoy it sooner.

I don’t regret it one bit because I love my RDX. When I purchased I knew that the RDXs would eventually start selling under MSRP, but I made the choice to buy it anyway.

Hello all, new to the forum here as this is my first post. I decided on getting my first Acura and of course the RDX model since I'm posting this thread.
Haven't purchased it yet and wanted to also share my experience with everyone to help them with their buying experience.
I'm located in SoCal (California) and I'm looking to buy a FWD Advance trim.
The MSRP on that model as everyone knows is $45,400 and with the 995 delivery charge brings the MSRP to 46,395.
Went to a local dealer and test drove the car and without getting into any negotiations they printed me a OTD total price including 9.5% sales tax and their discount of $2900.
This would put me at $48,288 with the 1K discount for owning a Honda puts me at $47,288.
I've read people getting 4-5K off MSRP. My question is for the people that have gotten 4-5K off. What number should I go in there to start the negotiation with and I'm not afraid to walk out on the deal either.

First off, thank you to everyone that posted their purchase prices as it helped greatly with our negotiation.
We're from the Atlanta area and purchased from Acura Carland in Duluth, GA. They were a pleasure to deal with; best car buying experience I've had to date.
2019 RDX SH-AWD Advance (car was on the lot)
WDP with Parchment
Cargo Tray
All Season Floor Mats
17 miles
Paid $47,680 OTD with no trade-in.
Happy to answer any questions.

- This price includes $1000 off for having a 2017 SQ5 registered to the same address
- In Georgia we pay 7% sales tax, which is included in the OTD price that we paid
Happy to answer any questions.

If I will qualify for this $1k discount, what do I need to produce? Registration doc? Owner of Lexus will likely not be with me at pickup of vehicle. Could be, if necessary.
NOW I see an edit button (and have another question): For conquest discount, does it have to be SUV model Lexus? This one is a sedan. I think/fear it has to be SUV.

Anyone in MD have recent numbers they could share? I've been to my two local dealers - one is a Priority 1 dealer and they basically say pound sand. The other is a privately owned dealership who is a bit more willing to haggle but still not to the level some are posting here. For example, today's offer for a 19 RDX FWD ASPEC was:
$44,499 MSRP (including $995 destination charge)
$2,499 Discount
$42,000 selling price
I countered with $41,000 and they said no. I ended up walking out of the dealership and will play the waiting game. As others in this thread have mentioned, end of November and December are historically good months to get deals. Guess I will have to wait and see.

I need to rephrase my question but don't know how to edit. Another member of my household owns a 2016 Lexus, which is registered to him at our address. Does this qualify me for the conquest discount? The Lexus is not in my name, nor registered to me, nor part of my insurance. New Acura will be titled/registered to me at a new/different address.
If I will qualify for this $1k discount, what do I need to produce? Registration doc? Owner of Lexus will likely not be with me at pickup of vehicle. Could be, if necessary.

I was quoted 47k plus tax/title for an Advance SHAWD (no options) from Duval Acura (Jacksonville, FL). This is with the reference from a poster on here also. I'm disappointed it's a bit high compared to all the other great prices here and I'm ready to buy.

Let me try to clarify. They are selling the RDX so well at their dealership, they are unable to keep them in stock. Which means if I say I am holding out for a better deal, they are refusing to negotiate. I am also not ready to buy, so i am not pushing on price. I do all my maintenance there too, so i think that would be a caveat to trying to also sell me a car.
#1228
I did have a 2009 Honda minivan and expected to see the 1000 off somewhere in getting to OTD and kept asking what proof they needed (sent current insurance card showing) but they never mentioned it. Perhaps it flowed into things in the selling price behind the scenes, idk.

That guy that was telling you and I that the $4K would not happen isnt around. I knew he wouldnt surface to eat his words. Seems like any day is a good time to buy the car now.

I was gonna buy new RDX this year, but I am a bit cautious with all the freezing navigation systems issues. I am sure software update is coming soon. My 2008 RDX with 176K just keeps going and going and needs no money every month, if something expensive breaks such that it will cost more to fix than the car value, I will get 2019 RDX, otherwise I will see if I can get another year out of it.

Hey Boltface, they are the only dealer west of Ann Arbor in michigan. All others are in Ann Arbor or in Detroit. They do really good volume. My salesman won some award for highest sales in the Midwest area.

Bought a 2019 pearl white/parchment RDX Tech package from Radley Acura in Falls Church, VA this weekend. Price = $40,800.00 out the door, including all VA taxes, fees, etc. (I negotiated based on OTD pricing, as opposed to prices based on MSRP and/or invoice, which seemed subject to too much uncertainty regarding fees etc.). That price reflects a $1000 loyalty discount.
As an aside, I'd like to give a shout out to Radley, who was very much interested in taking business away from Pohanka. The best offer I received from Pohanka was 41,500 OTD on the same car. Pohanka didn't really seem interested in winning my business, whereas Radley certainly was (they even asked what it would take to get me to come over to Radley before going to Pohanka). I named my OTD price, Radley agreed, and they stuck to their word when I showed up to make the purchase. Nader and Aaron were great to work with, and they made the whole process smooth as silk.
A few general observations for those still on the market: I made my purchase mid-month simply because my schedule allowed me some free time at the moment. If I had waited until the last 2 or 3 days of the month, I expect I probably could have knocked a little bit more off of the OTD price. In the DMV area, there seems to be relatively fierce competition among dealers to win customers' business right now. If you approach the buying situation as someone who's fairly nonchalant about buying a new RDX now, I think you should definitely get a good deal. Also, be up front with the various dealers you're speaking to -- I point blank told Radley what Pohanka had offered, which gave them a realistic idea of whether they'd be able to beat Pohanka's offer. In this case, it turned out Radley was willing to do so. I also made it very clear to all dealers that I was going to lock in their best OTD price offer before stepping foot in their showroom -- my sole factor in determining which dealer to go to was getting the lowest OTD price possible (I was very flexible on interior/exterior colors, so I wasn't concerned about whether a dealer had a huge inventory of vehicles to choose from).

Hi everyone,
Just went to Paragon Acura in NYC for test drive and negotiation for RDX tech model. The salesperson was pushy and dishonest. :-(
At the beginning, no discount and Honda owner loyalty discount ($1000) were offered until I mentioned the loyalty discount and showed the salesperson what people's deal on Acurazine.
I disagree to the offer below becoz of the trade in (He needs my trade in to get me $39,000 MSRP)
RDX Tech model MSRP $39,000 plus tax and fee, come up to about 42k OTD and $1000 loyalty which is applied to the downpayment.
The salesperson insists that I need to trade in my 2013 accord sport (48k mileages) for the deal. He offered 7850 for my trade in, I disagreed and asked for $10,000 for my trade in. KBB shows 10k-11k trade in.
he disagreed and I walked away.
Here is my question, why the $1,000 loyalty discount is after tax and apply to the downpayment but not to MSRP?

In this case, it turned out Radley was willing to do so. is your RDX FWD or AWD? 41500 OTD is excellent price if AWD.

That's what I questioned the salesperson, he has no answer and says it can be only applied to downpayment. I don't understand why it isn't applied to MSRP so I can save more sale tax (8.875% in NYC). Maybe $88.75 isn't a big deal, but I'm a CPA and over sensitive to the tax I need to pay lol.

Because, that's how the discount is written. It can only be applied to the down payment. I was corrected it an earlier post.
