OEM 'rear seat back/cargo area protector' INSTALLED

got it done at dealer because of the odd requirement to drill into stuff. looks great and definitely adds a good amount of protection to the fabric areas along the sides/rear seats:

Looks great, but those cheap bungee cords are ridiculous. Are they essential in keeping it up?

I’ve had mine up for months now and as long as the snaps are not damaged or worn from constant removal and installing the cords are not necessary.

***NOPE**** definitely need those bungee cords lol. they keep the corners of the mats flat against the edges of the rear seat back...if you removed them, the edges would begin to sag.

My corners have stayed true and flat without the cords. I never take the covers off.

I might have to get these. I was hauling some lumber the other day and I had to be more careful than I care to be.

Is it possible just to get the seat backs? I already have the floor protector and I don't really need the wheel hump protectors.

Also, where is the drilling necessary? If I could just get the seat backs and install it myself without having to drill, I'd be inclined to do that.

Oh and I agree, those bungies totally detract from the look. Why would they do that? Why not just put another mounting point or two on the upper corner of each?

You can’t just buy the seat back protectors only. It comes as a set with the hump protection. The floor mats are separate. To be properly installed you have to drill. That’s how the rivets for the mat install are put it. You could try some heavy duty velcro and see it that works but as to how long it would hold up would be the real question. The drilling was easy and I did it myself without the rotobroach kit. Me personally I like having the complete kit with the cargo mat. Keeps everything from my dogs hair to bags of mulch from making a mess of the carpet in the back. As for the bungies I don’t notice them anymore. I put them back on to keep my dog from chewing on them and I have the black interior so you can barely notice them when looking in from the hatch. Overall I like the kit! I’ve attached my pics the day I installed my mats.
