Looking to buy a CPO RDX questions

I've had a 2018 tlx a spec for 3 years now and love it. I'm due to upgrade my wife's car (small suv) and was looking at the RDX. She's had a CRV for well over a decade so I think the RDX will be a nice upgrade. I've only bought new and private party used cars and never bought a used car from a dealer. My new car deals have all been by using True Car and getting a decent no haggle price (I realize of late they're not the best prices). I was interested in the 2019+ current gen models
I have a few questions:
1. I looked at True Car and the prices didn't seem that far off from new car prices for used. Any better sources of prices? I use True car when I've bought my last few new cars.
2. When I bought my TLX I remember some folks on here saying that there are ways to get an acura warranty online. I used that price to negotiate a good price on an extended warranty from my dealer.
3. Some of the cars I'm looking at are an hour a way from me. Is it possible to negotiate the whole deal on the phone and then drive and pick up the car?

Thanks!

I haven't purchased a used car before, so I cannot help you with your questions. The only reason I was responding is to mention that supposedly the used car market is pretty hot for whatever reason in the COVID economy. So that may be the reason that prices aren't as low as you are hoping and it may not necessarily be that you're using the wrong service. However, I don't know. Good luck with the car shopping.

I will say that I live quite far away from an Acura dealer and I was able to do my pricing over the phone before I went to get the car.

There's a couple of dealers that sell warranty online at a decent price. curry and sacucci to name two.

If you are buying new fightingchance.com is a good source for the real cost of vehicle/option/rebate but don't buy it until you are actually ready to go because he updates weekly with rebate info, etc

Odd; usually the only pre-owned RDX's listed at close to prices of new ones are the dealer's last-year loaner cars. Acuras hold their value well but not that well.

A CPO Acura had a 182-point inspection to ensure the maintenance is up to date, the interior/exterior are in good condition, and any wearable items like brakes or tires are within; but, not exceeding a certain %. A CPO Acura will also extend the 4yr/50,000 basic to 6yr/100,000 miles and the 6yr70,000 mile powertrain goes up to 7yrs/100,000 miles. The CPO certification can add $0-$3000 to the price of the vehicle depending on the dealership.

Pretty much all dealerships have an Internet Sales Manager. You can do 100% of the negotiations online and just show up for the final purchase. I did this when I purchased my used 11 MDX Adv in 2014 from a dealership in CO when I live in NM. Did the same thing purchasing my CPO 18 RLX hybrid from a dealership near Sacramento, CA (flew out, signed paperwork, & drove back to NM in one weekend).

I would expand my search out a distance you are comfortable driving in a day or overnight stay. Dealership prices for used/CPO vehicles will vary more as you move outside your local area. I was able to get my used 11 MDX Adv+Ent 5hrs away in CO for the same price my local Acura dealership was selling a CPO 11 MDX tech.
