Loaner 2020 RDX impressions

Had a loaner 2020 RDX. I've posted more detailed impressions in the 1G TLX Forum in the back of the 2018-2020 Aspec vs 2021s thread.

The 3G RDX is a very fun vehicle to drive around town. I could see myself purchasing one eventually with the following recommendations to Acura:
1) Keep the fun 4 cylinder turbo, but make it a 2.4T with >300hp, enough to lower the 6.6s 0-60 to just at or under 6.
2) Add an "economy" mode to the higher power 2.4T that shuts off the turbo if you wanted to keep the mpg down for a boring commute or long term highway cruise.
3) This is my biggest complaint. ADD MORE SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL. The road noise is TERRIBLE when driving on concrete highways at highway speeds. This is noticeable and much worse than my TLX

Other than that it is a mostly fun to drive modern and somewhat practical vehicle.

I've heard of a vehicle(or an airplane) that could shut down its turbo. You would definitely have to lean the mixture back.

my god u complain more than my wife. Move along the RDX isn't for you. We don't need to help you write letters to Acura about the road noise.

I swear there's some cringey trolls on this website that like to harp everything acura.

1. Larger, more powerful engine = worse mpg
2. ECO mode won't do anything. Turbo recovers lost energy (exhaust heat).
3. Agree

To make efficient engine you need large engine to become small when less power is required (Variable Cylinder Management on previous RDX) or to make small engine powerful when needed (turbo). ECO mode gets slightly better mpg lowering average speed by making car sluggish. You can do the same by just driving slightly slower.

1. Agree wholeheartedly

2. Not necessary - I get 18.6 mpg in constant Sport + with Trans selector in Sequential mode

3. I just crank the awesome stereo
