Iphone disconnects after 15 seconds

This is happening often. Plug in iphone, play music, after about 15 seconds it just disconnects, then 10 seconds later it might reconnect. And i think i need to start the music again, which is a huge distraction while im driving. Incredibly annoying...Affecting others too?

Check the phone plug in port for lint/dirt/dust as that could cause your symptom. Should be easy to rule it out.

I had this problem after the iOS 12.2 update. I ended up removing my car from the CarPlay settings on iPhone. This resolved my disconnecting issue.

A lingering issue I experience is that calls routed through CarPlay last for about 1-2 minutes before I can no longer hear the other party. They can hear me fine but I cannot hear them. I've narrowed it down to just the Phone app on iPhone (dictating a note works without issue) but haven't gone further in troubleshooting. I've thought about restoring my phone but that's a bit of work. Waiting to see if the next beta of iOS resolves. Fingers crossed...

Great! Glad to hear it worked for you.

As for my one-way audio problem, that has been resolved. The latest beta of iOS 12.3 resolved this......THANKFULLY!

There's an entire discussion about this in the Apple Car Play & 2019 RDX thread in the 3G RDX Audio, Bluetooth, Electronics & Navigation section above.

This disconnecting the car from CarPlay settings thing seems odd to me, but hey...free country.

As for me, I followed the Factory Data Reset steps someone suggested and it has (so far) resolved my disconnection issue completely, working flawlessly.

1. Go to Settings
2. Select "System"
3. Select "Factory Data Reset"

You will lose any pre-set channels, favorites, etc., which you'll have to re-enter.
