Gunmetal Metallic Advance AWD
Are there any owners who have a Gunmetal Metallic Advance AWD in the garage (as opposed to on order)? Seems there’s a hold up on either the production or delivery of this vehicle. Please share your city/town if you own one, please. Thank you.

I have a Gunmetal Metallic Advanced AWD in my garage. I got lucky and the dealer found one nearby that was just being delivered. 2 days after my initial visit to the dealer I was driving away with mine. I'm in Groton, CT.

Fury beat me to it. My nearest dealer has only 4 RDXs, two of which are 2018 models. When I asked them about a 2019 Advance, they said they probably wouldn't see one for a month and it would likely be sold long before it arrived.

Curry, my dealer, consistently wins Presidential awards at both Acura and Honda. The dealership is located in Scarsdale, NY, an affluent area, and they move a lot of product. Curry has been family owned for over 100 years, and they have lots of different dealerships, all named Curry, except for the Mercedes dealership.
They have 81 RDXs in stock, according to today’s website, every last one of them an AWD.

I have a Gunmetal Metallic Advanced AWD in my garage. Had to wait 3-4 weeks but it is worth it. I am in the Kansas City area and there are just two Acura dealers here.

Could well be production. I just checked the Acura site and it seems that every dealer in the MI, OH, IL area has a WDP/Parchment Advance 'in transit'. Looks like a whole bunch of them were produced at the same time. If that's the 'normal' production methodology, and it makes sense that it could be, then some trim/colors may take some time to be produced while waiting for their turn in the cycle.

I believe they actually produce 50 at a time. That was what we were told on a Marysville tour (highly recommended by the way) and what we saw on the assembly line. I am sure all Honda plants operate this way.

Yes the Ohio Acura factory builds the same colors at one time. I am not sure of how many in the batch. They do build the same colors at one time so this is likely a reason for delays in colors.
Look at 14 seconds in the video and this is an example of how they build them.

That's consistent with my experience. When my dealer was looking for a swap and I started to 'lean' on him a bit he indicated that of all my color choices the WDP was the one that would be produced the earliest. One of my other choices wasn't 'scheduled' until late August or early September.
That would also lend some clarity to why some of us are given production 'windows', sometimes followed by a specific date. The 'window' would be when the plant is slated to produce a specific trim/color but no individual vehicles are yet in the queue.
