Entire Front seat frame needs replacement

We just bought a 2022 RDX Tech last December. I started noticing the driver's seat making a grinding noise when it would move backward from position 1 to 2. Just had it evaluated at the local dealer. They said one of the motors is faulty. Instead of replacing the motor they will replace the entire seat frame. Of course, this is under warranty. Service advisor said the frame alone would cost $1800 just for parts if it wasn't. Ordered the part today and taking it back later this week to replace. Disappointing this went out so fast but glad it happened under manufacturer warranty!

Those motors are actually pretty robust. They will take a few hammer hits before hearing that grinding noise. The seat frame may of been bumped into something when the upholstery was put on or during unloading. I don't remember what screw/bolts are used to attach the motor to the frame, but it could be a screw/bolt that may be only used once, or a safety critical screw/bolt. I don't think you should see this issue again IMO.

Yeah my TLX is 8 years old with no seat issues. However, I mostly keep the same seat position as I primarily drive it. The RDX is shared between me and my wife almost daily so always changing the seat position. 7 months is pretty fast for the seat motor to fail though.
