Car and Driver 8/2022 test
#2
Spot on. I am currently at 24.3mpg lifetime average (10,1XX miles so far), and here is my Dragy data:
My car is EVER so slightly quicker, and I attribute it to lighter tires (CC2's) and an awesome DA that morning. Either way, I got EXACTLY what I thought I would with the RDX, if I had read this before buying it. It outperformed all the tests MT and C&D did on the pre-22 RDX's.
Reading their review, I could have written it. They literally nailed every praise and every "ho hum" I feel about this car. To the letter. In fact when people potentially looking to get an RDX ask me about it, I'm just going to link them to that article/test and save myself the time.

Burning Brakes
Hum, the RDX SHAWD 6..5 sec from 0-60 is slow for a sporty, mid-size SUV. Brakes are a weak spot too. The ICE competition in the article is much better in all metrics. If you then add in hybrids and pure EV’s, most are much quicker than the RDX, brake better and some get much better Mpg.
Your 24.3 mpg avg is way higher than most - my all time average of 20mpg over 11.5k miles with road trips covering 4k of those miles. Lucky to get 24-25 mpg on the hwy doing 70-75 mph. City is awful 16-17mpg in good weather, add in snow and freezing temps, that pings at 14-16mpg.
Car mags reviews are short term and not real world. I put little value in those opinions. That’s my opinion.
