Black Lug Nuts

Just want to hear opinions/thoughts on swapping out chrome lug nuts for the black lug nuts on the RDX A Spec to complete the chrome delete.

This is a MDX A Spec and it comes with black lug nuts. Wondering why the RDX A Spec is not the same.

I vote YES to the black lug nuts for yours. Would complete the look!

I have them on my Lunar Silver 22 Aspec Adv and happy with them. Of course, the wheels are shark grey and lug nuts black but really not that noticeable

Did the black lugs come with the your ASpec Advance or did you put them on aftermarkert or OEM?

How well does the paint wear? I could see it being a problem after a couple tire rotations.

I have red spline drive lug nuts and the paint chips easily on them - tried 3 different products and they all do it even the anodised ones. It's not super obvious from a distance as the chipping is all on the side though.

I have aspec without black nuts, did not feel they warranted extra expense, it looks good as it is

Has anyone tried to black out the "A" on the center wheel caps?

I haven’t seen anyone do it yet, but the place I got my tint said it would be very hard and tedious because of the size to wrap it.

I purchased them from Acura when I took delivery of the car. Hoping the quality is better going the OEM route - couple rotations so far - no chipping

Definitely a need. I had my wheels powdercoated gloss black and the chrome lugs looked weird, changed them out real fast.

I swapped the lugs to black, I only use gorilla lugs, as they don chip or rust.

Here's a neat trick for you all to do if you want to complete the look.

When you swap lugs, pull the wheels, pop off the center caps and clip the tooth holding the Acura logo. it comes right off. Scuff them and paint them (In my case gloss black). When dry place them back on and use the remaining tooth as your place to apply glue. Been this way for four months, no issues.

I just ordered new wheels, if anyone wants to swap center caps let me know, also the lugs are for sale, had to use tuner lugs on the new wheels.

Yea, it's an issue. I've posted photos of my Glint Black rims with black lugs in past threads. They were fine for a couple of tire rotations, but after almost two years of wear and tear and - I think - 6 tire rotations and winter tire changeouts they're looking long in the tooth. Chipped and in some parts are rusting. Of course I have always pleaded with the service folks to please take care of these lugs, well - that doesn't really do any good. Bottom line is they were good for a year, then took a slide down the usual path of entropy where everything turns to s$#* anyway. I probably would not do it again.

don’t buy cheap lugs. Get the gorilla brand, never had an issue

Can you send me the link to the black gorilla lugs for the specific size for the RDX ASpec wheels or the exact specs?

I cannot remember, I ordered them in January and cannot find the info.

I am pulling this set off and would be happy to sell it.

Only had one A badge break, but a little crazy glue fixed it, but the rest of the rear tabs did not break. 3 coats later, popped them back on center cap and on the wheel. Not a perfect job, but who is going to be up that close to see. Ordered the black lugs to complete the wheel chrome delete on the wheel.

This is the one that broke, and I crazy glued it back together.

Broken one.

3 coats. Not perfect, but who is going to be that close to see.

On the wheel.

The optional black lug nuts from Acura is actually gloss black unlike the standard black lugs that comes on the MDX Aspec wheels. I have them on my Aspec and Type S wheels.
