Anyone try this method to reset all ECU?

This had some merit when disconnection of the battery would clear codes. That not longer works as regulators mandated that the ECU retain codes and data memory.
Prior the trick was car had codes, CEL on and would not pass the emissions test. Owner would disconnect battery, clear all the issues and immediately go in for the emissions tests. It might pass depending on what the real problems(s) were. That battery disconnect cleared the codes and all the readiness tests. Readiness test are the emissions self test that run under specific driving conditions.
To pass today the all or high % of the readiness must have run and pass. Plus the check engine light will not clear.
The other issue ..fuel trim and other learned values will change quickly on their own as you drive. So the merits of forcing the values to reset have no real merit in the real world.
That battery disconnect, with lead short might still reset some modules like window auto or radio memory etc.
